J.A. McLachlan (janeannmclachlan) | 1 comments Hi, J.A. McLachlan (Jane Ann) here. I also write, Walls of Wind is my SF novel, and The Occasional Diamond Thief is my young adult sci fi novel. I'm currently wrapping up the next in the YA series, The Salarian Desert Game, to be published this summer.

I like a lot of the books Teralyn put on her list, above, and she gave me a few new ones to look up. Teralyn, you would also like the Red Rising series, I forget the author, but it's very good. And I seldom meet someone who likes Voigt, I thought Homecoming was excellent.

Dottie | 1 comments Hi, I'm Dottie DuParce' and I recently published my book, Pain Free, How I Released 43 Years of Chronic Pain. I was very excited when it went to Best-Seller status in several categories on Amazon. I am currently working on getting it in print. I have been reading since I was 3 years old when my grandmother taught me to read. I average reading 5 books a week. I have recently lost most of my vision but can read on my Kindle Voyage. I also get talking books for the Blind. So I am surrounded by books. I love a good mystery but am also fascinated by authors like Stephen King because I wonder how his mind comes up with the stories he writes. I like to read all genres.

I am late to the party and have yet to read The Rithmatist (or anything else by Sanderson). My goal is to solve that this year!! I hear he is too good of a writer to miss out on!

You are correct - you can't miss out on Sanderson if you intend to be a fantasy fan.

Sharon Jenkins (sharoncjenkins) | 1 comments Hi - I'm Sharon Jenkins. I write non-fiction and help authors (non-fiction, fiction) deliver their book babies. I have gained an appreciation for teen fantasy after editing the new book Cloud Shifters by Katie Pottle. This year, I hope to try my hand at fiction. I am writing a fantasy book for my 11-year-old granddaughter. I look forward to exploring your Future House creations.

message 12: by G.L. (new)

G.L. Wilson | 1 comments Hi everyone,
I'm a children's writer and playwright. (I'm a Goodreads author). I'm also an ex English and drama teacher. I've always loved reading and teaching middle grade and young adult fiction. My favourite books star way back and take in Tolkien, Just William and CS Lewis and come right through to Harry Potter and the Hunger Games (just read Twilight although I'm probably not its target audience).

I've recently published an ebook, the first in a quartet. It's a sci fi/magic mash up called Campion's Choice. (It will be free next Monday.)

I'm really looking forward to picking up new recommendations for books here on FH Creations.

Best wishes.

GW.

I have gone through many likes as far as authors including Lawrence Saunders and Dean Koontz. I would be interested in feedback about my book. I am a late bloomer but Self Publishing Review gave me a 4 star rating.

Carole Hayes (carolehayes) | 4 comments I'm Carole, and I'm a photographer (www.spellboundboudoir.com) who also breeds/raises/sells hypoallergenic cats (www.spellboundsiberiancats.com) when I can pull myself away my books.... :)

Some of my favorite authors: Anne McCaffrey, Christopher Stasheff, Orson Scott Card, Rae Carson, Stephen King, Jodi Meadows, Kimberly Derting, D.J. MacHale, Brian S. Pratt

Favorite series by those authors: Dragonriders of Pern, Warlock series, Ender series and Seventh Son series, Girl of Fire and Thorns series, Gunslinger series, Incarnate series, The Pledge series, Pendragon series, Morcyth Saga and Dark Mage series (I can read and enjoy standalone books too, but I get so attached to characters that I really prefer series....)

I tend to love authors who make me care about their characters—make them feel REAL to me—and those who are able to surprise me. (I'm not even picky about HOW I'm surprised: it can be plot-related, unexpected dialogue, or even just something unexpected about a character. I think it's just that I've read so many books over the years that I've gotten really good at predicting things, so surprises are much valued....)

Katriann (annelisreadingroom) | 2 comments Hi, I'm Kat and I'm new to this group. Actually, I'm pretty new to Goodreads too. :) I'm a Finish university student majoring in English and specializing in literature. I've loved reading since I was a kid, but it's only recently that I've started book blogging, bookstagramming and writing reviews. I read pretty much everything but my favorite genres at the moment are fantasy, science fiction and dystopian fiction. Oh, and I'm a huge YA fan. My dream is to one day have a book related job and I'm currently considering the option of becoming an intern at a publishing company. I happened to come across Future House Publishing on Instagram and many of the books you have published seem interesting to me. That's how I decided to check out this Goodreads group as well and now I'm here to see what it's all about. :)
