I only knew a little about Marcinko before this. He sounds interesting, think I'll need to read that book*book wishlist strains under the weight*
I took some of Jocko's comments as gently critical of Rollins for acting like a soldier but not being one.
I agree with rubthemtogether on the comments about Henry Rollins. I laughed really hard when Jocko called him a result of his career... that choice of words just struck me as funny. But the first part of the podcast where he gives two examples of how he gave constructive criticism to two SEAL team leaders who were in training was very interesting. Parts made me laugh even though it wasn't meant to be funny. The direct and blunt statements were funny to me because in my field those are the types of things I've wanted to say to people but I have been encouraged to "soften the blow". Obviously I'm not working in a life or death situation, but sometimes you have people in companies who are negative and divisive and can bring a group of hard working people down. I appreciated this part of the podcast. It gave me some insight into how to deal with certain types of people as well as confirmed some things I have been thinking.
