I'm on my second time reading Extreme Ownership. I listened to the audiobook the first time and I can't recommend it enough!! Jocko and Leif are fantastic narrators. I bought the book for my second read through so I could underline and take notes. I've made it to Ch 4.Which version of this book have you or are you reading? How many times have you read it?
I bought the Kindle version of Extreme Ownership and am on my second read. I think I am going to buy the book so I can mark it and have a physical reference. The first read through I focused mostly on the war narrative because it was so riveting. Not to mention that it continues on with no end in sight...So this read through I plan to focus more on the lesson, principle, and application.
Any other PMI (Project Management Institute) PMP (Project Management Professional) certified folks in the group? I just purchased my third copy of Extreme Ownership (2 gifts) and am using some of the lessons as I craft a Governance Charter for a large program. Specifically I am using the chapters on Decentralized Command, Plan, and Leading Up and Down the Chain of Command.
While rereading the material it occurred to me that Extreme Ownership is target rich in PDU (professional development units) content!!!! The new PDU re-cert requirements have Leadership and Business and Strategic Management competency requirements... hello - that's Extreme Ownership. I am claiming several PDU's under the category of Self Directed Reading.
