Ok. In most cases I understand what I am reading :) but can anyone tell me what the ending of this book means. I mean, the thing when Charlie says about the birthday that it's next month and then to Silas that it's not for another six months and then he says "Not again"... I'm really tired and I just cannot put those dots together. Thaaaaanks.

I guess the same happens to their daughter and her bf: they were not talking to each other properly and she forgot her birthday was not in next month, so they forgot each other. She felt out of love because of the neighbor guy.
Ohhhh I just now realized what the epilogue is talking about. I was soooo confused by the epilogue too and I didn't realize what was going on. So Charley asks her daughter if they want to celebrate her birthday in Florida next month to test her and see if she remembers when her own birthday is... Then her daughter says "yeah, whatever" and then Silas and Charley realize that their daughter has lost her memory and Silas says "not again". That all makes sense now, but I totally agree that it was confusing as hell to read. I read it over and over again 3 times trying to understand what happened.
Aaaaaah makes sense! I just couldn't put it together bc Silas kind of confirmed the next month... But true, the mention of the neighbour is the key. Thanks a lot :)
???? Someone please answer me this...Spoilers here....stop reading now.Okay, was it ever explained why there was blood and dirt in Silas bed the night before all of this happened?!? I don't think I missed it. I'm just wondering why it was included in the book if it didn't tie into the ending or was at least explained!! Anyone?!?!
What does the neighbor have to do with it? I thought she was just flirting with him to make Harry jealous. Does she love the neighbor? How is he the key?

no, that part was not explained. I guess at first the authors had other ideas or they just wanted to think about it later, and they forgot to explain that part. So the only thing is to think Silas did something before he lost his memory again, and he didn't write it down.
Rachel wrote: "What does the neighbor have to do with it? I thought she was just flirting with him to make Harry jealous. Does she love the neighbor? How is he the key?"I think it's the key because Charlie flirted with some dude (i forgot his name, brian?) and cheated on Silas and it was the same conditon with Jess. She flirted with the new hot neighbor and Harry got mad and jealous. That's why the new neighbor is the clue to what was happened to Jess in the book, just like her mother when Charlie was in high school

ex-freaking-actly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No it wasn't.
Isn't the blood on his bed from his hand after he punched Brian's dad? I don't think it was ever explained but that's the conclusion I came to.....

OMG, I keep thinking the same thing. Totally bugs me.
I just finished last night - half of this stuff was never explained:-The blood/dirt in Silas' bed. For the amount they described, there's no way it was from punching Brian's dad.
- WHY would the tarot reading woman and The Shrimp have access to drugs (and needles when she fought back) and keep her locked in a room. Drugs? Really?
- Why Silas' dad was acting all shady, mean, and angry, but was totes okay when they hand over a file? Like he would believe his son immediately when they had such rage against Charlie and were convinced she stole it?
It just felt like they were in a rush to finish it and wasn't sure how and didn't take the time to re-read through what they already wrote.
I was... irritated, I think. The end was really strange. I like romantic books and books about soul mates... There is only one word in my mind: crumpled

I think the blood was indeed from punching Brian's dad, but that doesn't explain the dirt thought. Maybe it was from when he buried the letter he wrote.
The carrot lady made no sense to me. I mean sure there was an affair and blah blah blah but you'd think she'd be a better mother and yell at her daughter for kidnaping her step sister. Idk. Its just my opinion.
Silas dad was just angry because Silas didn't take his side, but when Silas explained what happened, i guess the father was like 'kid, you are stupid. But you are just a kid. Lets move past this.'
I do feel the last book was a terrible book. It was as if they just wrote something, to write something. I would of preferred them to leave the book in part 2, rather than giving us a shitty part 3.
but after all i can't explain myself one thing: WHY the heeeelllll silas and charlie lost their memory???????? what is the problem, what is the reason im freaking out
thank you for explaining the ending. I WAS SO DESPERATE because i couldn't understand the ending!!! the books were interesting but they lack a lot of explanations.
I think that ending is horrible! In fact I can honestly say that book was not well written at all. Clunky from start to finish
Spoilers alerts ahead...I can agree with that. Honestly I love Colleen Hoover, but this book was a pretty big disappointment from what I expected. I've never read anything by Tarryn Fisher, but after reading her POV writing for Charlie I dont expect I will again. So many things were not concluded or answered. I can see most people agree that the blood and dirt in silas bedroom was never explained, which alone is annoying. But where it all fell apart for me was the tarot reading. What are the odds that she happens to run into her fathers mistress? And how is there no conclusion about what happens to them for kidnapping her? And the fact that they make Silas father seem almost abusive and then disregard that behavior at the end of the book feels like a cop-out. Also, Silas having an affair with the counselor seems so out of character with what we're shown of him. Eventhough the affair was explained he doesn't seem the type to do that. This book was overall too confusing and unresolved.
