She has no family, but is an older sister figure to Belgium and Veneziano, with whom she lived in Austria's house with. She and Austria were married and she helped him fight off Prussia with, among other things, a skillet.
She has had a storied history, beginning life as a tomboyish nomad, bullied by Mongolia and Turkey, eventually married to Austria for a time, and then part of the Soviet Bloc until 1989. She is a motherly, loyal friend to most except Romania.
