The Modern Library 100 Best Novels Challenge discussion

Here is a link to the books we will be reading together. I will post the books we are currently reading and then they will be added to our bookshelf.

We will be reading books from both lists, in no particular order. I will be looking at common themes and authors when picking the month's selection(s)along with length. Our first two selections were completely random picks because of their short length. I might get a little creative with the picking.

I looked over the lists again today and it looks like about 30 books overlap. I was way off.

Some of the books listed are actually series - we might try and read the entire series if we are into it, or we might just read the first book of the series and then individually we can decide if we want to continue. I guess we'll see.

Since this is a CHALLENGE, give all of the books your best shot. If you really can't get through something, write about it in the discussion thread so we can talk about it. You do not have to read every single book we read - if you want to try to read at least one per month, then that is your goal. If you have already read some of the books rather recently, skip them, but still discuss with us in the thread. ;)
