I cannot over-recommend one of my old favorites, Killer Couples: Terrifying True Stories Of The World's Deadliest Duos. It's about all kinds of killer duos, not just romantic relationships gone violent. The editor (Richard Glyn Jones) selected the best of the best, mostly articles written by famous writers.

Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka. I avoided reading this one for a long time. Didn't think I could stomach it but I finally read it not long ago. Truly a very bad couple!
