I have never written anything for pleasure before.
I always thought of it as a waste of time.
However after joining a book/writing community called Books Amino I was encouraged to write.
I am by no means a good writer, I usually just write a small poem here or there to help relieve stress.
I know there are others here in this community who are great writers, I'm just here to jump start this thread :)

My entire body is an open wound.
Where even the faintest breeze can cause me great pain.
The vissitudes of life slowly break me.
Yet I am ever hopeful for something more.

Doing what is right can be painful.
It cuts deeper when those you do right by, ridicule you.
They do not know.
They must not know.
For knowledge ruins everything.

You say you listen.
But the signs have been up.
I tell you directly.
Yet you don't understand.
Our language is same but not.
How can we move on?

When I close my eyes I see doubt and self loathing.
A constant battle against negativity.
As the 5000th sheep passes by,
my eyelids get heavy and begin to waver.
Tears stream down my face.
During the day I never stop to think, but now there is no escape, I must face it.
Regret,
That is all I see now.
A painful darkness that will soon engulf me.
With every step it draws ever closer.
If I choose to open them, the process will only repeat.
Continuous torture of the worst kind.
My only solace is knowing its mortality.
The real fear is knowing its nightly resurrection.

Between all objects is gravity.
Perpetual attraction.
It binds us, grounds us.
Yet I want to fly away.
My thoughts are always of you.
This attraction is torturous
For you are but a thought, an idea that isn't real.
Why do I cling to this impossible dream?
I'm free falling through this prison of loneliness hoping to find you.
I imagine free falling together.
To be as one, before it ends.
