Personally I like the fantasy world or the charactersn to seem believable and I love when theirs romance but not so much that the book just starts to focus on that instead of the mission or whatever. I also like to be able to relate to the character

Holly | 38 comments I'm currently writing a book on wattpad. I'd like to know how many pages on average should be in a chapter?

message 5: by Isadora (new)

Isadora (isadorawonder) There should be on an average of 6-9 pages each chapter.

It depends on your writing style

I agree. I think that a lot of books I read have about 6 pages.

Thanks! It's on the 2nd draft at the moment, so I'm really just working on editing and building the story. Thank you again for your help!

Ardent || LoveArdent || Raya (loveardent) | 161 comments Yep but if you say like to write with little detail or have a chapter just explaining her past...it doesn't really have to be that long

Isadora (isadorawonder) The story I am writing gets right into one of the main parts of the whole thing in chapter 2 or 3. Does anyone think that is rushing the story a little?

Ardent || LoveArdent || Raya (loveardent) | 161 comments I like having action early bc it hooks me more so I think you're fine

It depends on the plot. When I think about my book, I think how much my reader would like the first part, or would they just get bored out? But honestly a favorite book of mine's action begins in the first chapter! So if your first couple chapters are interesting then maybe you should stretch them a bit. But personally I enjoy it when a book's story becomes a bit interesting sooner.

My story is about a girl who finds that a ghost (girl) actually has been watching her since she was born. So when she meets the ghost they become really good friends. The ghost who I have not named yet tells the main character that there is another ghost that visits the house but is actually evil and wants to kill her. There is a twist in some of the characters. That is basically what I know of my story so far.

Question for all you amazing people....

If you were writing a story and someone is texting back and forth would you guys bother with the he texted she texted concept...or would u just list it out in a different font...so for eg.

Hi
Hi back
How are u?

etc etc etc...or do u have any other suggestions

message 25: by M (new)

hmm..... I think in the beginning I would write the He/She texted but after awhile I think the readers would catch on, but the font thing works too.
