Thanks for creating the thread, Taylor. I'm hoping people take a look at my new book
This book, according to The Albuquerque Journal, "is a feminist, anti-diet book that explores the undercurrents that determine gender roles, identity issues, and women’s equality by bringing them out of the political realm and into every day life."
It is a memoir, deeply personal, and touches on many of the issues women face today.
The book has been out a few weeks and there are 19 reviews on Amazon so far. I just finished a Goodreads giveaway, but would like to offer the first 10 people who respond to this post a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
Please check out the Amazon reviews and the book. If you're interested, please message me with your address and I'll put a copy in the mail. Thanks and happy feminist reading!
Thanks for the thread, Taylor - it's a great place to put books written by group members.Pride's Children is fiction, but I always say you write who you are, and my main character is the most traditional kind of feminist (like me - though she's otherwise not like me!): a girl who grew believing there was nothing she couldn't do - and then making it happen.
Ours is not a world in which that is easy, and the choices she made, plus some life twists, have landed her where she is when we start: as a reclusive author who agrees to go on a talk show ONCE because of her unique position to use it for good.
Here's the link, and I am happy to provide electronic Review Copies to anyone who would consider leaving an honest review in return. If interested, contact me here with your email address. You can read the preview on GoodReads (on the book's page) to see if it appeals to you.

I'd also like to give your book a go, but I can't commit to so many pages just yet (school has me buried 400-year old French plays and essays on Middle Eastern Politics). Still, I'd like to read it some time, and I wish you the best for this novel and the next two! :)

Thanks so much Sarabi. I am so glad it resonated with you. Please send a link to your blog. I'd love to check it out.
Thanks for creating this thread! I'd like to introduce my novel "Smile!" about street harassment and the expectation that we automatically owe men smiles, conversation, and attention. It focuses on two heroines - Mia DeLaCruz and Valentina Espinosa -- who initially go to war with each other but finally join forces and inspire the women of their town to stand up for their rights. You can check it out here: Smile!
Moving Bozena's post over here in case anyone is interested in checking out her book.

Just posting here as a reminder that this is the only place in this group where authors should be promoting their work. Thank you!
Hey y'all,I've written a book about a badass female treasure hunter who is looking for a long lost pirate ship. (And there is a lovely feminist twist by the end of the book.) Please give it a thought. I'll even discuss it with those of you who read it personally!

Thank you for creating a space to promote feminist books. Hoping to find some readers and reviewers.
"The Lupanarium" is speculative fiction about trauma survivors learning how to love. With the amount of sex in the series, it would be easy to categorize it “erotica” or “pornography.” However, this book’s primary function is not to titillate. Instead, it comments on, critiques, and satirizes these genres, which often serve to normalize rape culture.
The Lupanarium
In a reimagined Ancient Rome, during the last days of the republic, enslaved prostitutes are brainwashed to eat and sleep only after sex. Matt-Lin—a surly teenage girl—is trafficked to the world’s preeminent brothel, the Lupanarium. She is tasked to perform a dangerous live sex-act in the arena with Jak—the Lupanarium’s most popular male prostitute and gladiator. Jak attempts to mentor Matt-Lin, but she proves unwilling to please her clients, and she vigilantly seeks a way to escape, putting her life, and his, in danger. This book comes with a graphic content warning for its depictions of sexual assault and child rape. Adult readers only, please.

I recently wrote a book called Mastering the Game: Strategies for Career Success about how women, people of color, and other professionals can succeed in work environments historically dominated by White men. It provides the "rules to the game" that, as a Black woman, I wish I knew when I was starting out in my career in law and corporate America decades ago. My life's mission is to create a more diverse and inclusive world and this book is the result of the wisdom that was passed to me by wonderful mentors, as well as the lessons I learned the hard way. (Goodreads link for your reference: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...)I am happy to share the book with members of The F-word group as I think it's important for women (and feminists more broadly) to advance in the workplace and to be in positions of power and influence if it aligns with their goals.
I am happy to share a free Kindle version of the book with the first 5 members who leave a comment in response to this thread! Let me know what you think or if you have any questions!
Hi everyone!First, thanks for the thread, Taylor. And now for the shameless self promoting, haha!
I just released book 1 in my feminist sci fi series, and I think that it's a great fit for this awesome group!

Here's the blurb which will (hopefully!) pique your interest:
She had to travel beyond the planet to discover her true self. Will she find the courage to walk through the doorway to a new future?
Shambhala Space Station, 2097. Solitary physicist Callisto (physics, after all, is a jealous mistress) never accepted conventional wisdom. So when she’s recruited to work on faster-than-light technology by a beautiful and mysterious older woman, she eagerly accepts the career opportunity at the women-only research station orbiting Earth’s moon. But her enthusiasm suffers when her first discovery is unexpected heartbreak.
Throwing herself into work on a problematic warp drive prototype, Calli blossoms in the utopian female community that shows her love and acceptance for the first time in her life. But when a twisted conspiracy, a disingenuous affair, and a disastrous betrayal test her place in this unique environment, the brilliant scientist must dig deep to find her moment of truth.
Will Calli embrace her destiny in an unexplored cosmos?
Callisto 2.0 is the transformative first book in the Shambhala Saga feminist science fiction series. If you like compassionate characters, deep-space intrigue, and hopeful visions of the future, then you’ll adore Susan English’s cosmic adventure.
Hi guys, Jordan Claire McCraw here. Today, my book was finally published...American Rapture: Poems from a Heartscape. I thought you might be interested in it, since you all seem pretty down-to-earth. :) My poetry isn't about proving anything, or being the smartest person in the room- I hate that, personally. My poetry is instead about painting rooms with raw feeling and making a safe space for all of us.Here is a quick explanatory excerpt from my press kit:
"This collection of poetry is for all the hearts that have done everything 'right' but still end up in a gutter- all the people who are pissed off and unfulfilled, and who are able to laugh at themselves.
No more lies. No more pretending. Whether we have lost our self-concept to our own broken childhoods, to parenthood, to careers, to marriages, to the wrong lovers- it is time for us to champion one another's truths, to embrace our worth and to dispel toxic expectations of perfection.
Borne out of the author's postpartum depression journey (and subsequent nervous breakdown) and sexual awakening in her thirties, Jordan's poems explore the interweaving of relationships, loss, healing, and self-worth. This collection follows the trajectory of self-exploration through relationships that have broken down and brought her closer to herself, prior to and in the aftermath of hospitalization- predominantly, the abandonment of Jordan's mother, a trauma which only manifested once her own baby was placed in her arms. Jordan's bicultural marriage and experiences as an immigrant in Great Britain further highlight the complexity of one modern woman's quest for personhood.
'Jordan’s thoughts are at times brutally direct and at times enticingly cryptic, but always open, always honest and always a welcome reminder that none of us are alone in our human struggle. And thank goodness there are a good number of laughs mixed in - truly the best medicine.'
- J.R. Havlan, Emmy Award-winning writer for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart"
Anyways, thanks so much for checking it out- I hope you find a home in my work. I would also be so grateful for reviews.
Love and hope for a better world,
Jordan

Hi Kayleigh and welcome to the group! Congrats on tackling writing a book, I'm impressed by anyone that tacke on that sort of project!
Thanks for the opportunity, Taylor! My feminist ya debut, Iphigenia Murphy, came out a little over a year ago--the paperback is due out in March.
Iphigenia Murphy
The School Library Journal wrote that "readers will be swept away by this angsty drama" and Norah Olsen called it a "must-read." Here's the blurb:
Running away from home hasn't solved Iphigenia Murphy's problems. In fact, it's only a matter of time before they'll catch up with her. Iffy is desperate to find her long-lost mother, and, so far, in spite of the need to forage for food and shelter and fend off an unending number of creeps, living in Queens' Forest Park has felt safer than living at home. But as the summer days get shorter, it all threatens to fall apart.
A novel that explores the sustaining love of friendship, the kindness of strangers, and the indelible bond of family, Iphigenia Murphy captures the gritty side of 1992 Queens, the most diverse borough in New York City. Just like Iffy, the friends she makes in the park -- Angel, a stray dog with the most ridiculous tail; Corinne, a young trans woman who is escaping her own abusive situation; and Anthony, a former foster kid from upstate whose parents are addicts -- each seek a place where they feel at home. Whether fate or coincidence has brought them together, within this community of misfits Iffy can finally be herself, but she still has to face the effects of abandonment and abuse -- and the possibility that she may be pregnant. During what turns out to be a remarkable journey to find her mother, will Iffy ultimately discover herself?
Thanks for checking it out!

Hello all,My book is FREE until Thursday 24th June - as part of a special Kindle promotion.
It's a YA fantasy called Misfit: Book One of the Asura Chronicles, and is the first in a series set in a New World built on logic and strict Ministry control.
Written by a passionate feminist, you'll no doubt see certain themes start to emerge. But I also tried to keep it light and fun. There are strong, brave girls, and kind, gentle boys - but it will be as the series progresses that deeper issues get tackled.

It would mean a lot to me if you could download it and let me know your thoughts, especially as I am shaping the second novel.
Thanks!!!

I won't blatantly self-promote just yet, but I just want to say how I love that you have created this thread. Cheers!

Darla got a little zing from making unkind remarks. They shocked Nicky, briefly and painfully, like sparks of static electricity. Nicky himself had whatever the opposite of a mean streak was. He had a nice streak, one that allowed other people to take advantage of him. In his imagination it was pink, nearly as wide as himself, and the texture of marshmallow cream. That was how bad days went for them: Darla going zing, zing, zing, and Nicky walking around with his insides full of scorched marshmallows.

Hello friends,My new novel, _Fault Lines_, is just out. Its protagonists are strong women working out their place in the world. This feminist novel is set against a backdrop of Latin American politics, history and culture, with a magical realist twist.

I recently finished a book about “THE WORLD MANIFESTO OF FEMINISM” and I would be so honored if you would write the review on Amazon or Goodreads for my book. Here is the brief description of the book:
A shadow of inaction has fallen upon the scenes so lately lighted by the historical feminist victories. Curtain of silence has descended upon feminist movements. Still, feminism has sent ripples across the continents, and no country is immune to the impacts of three feminist waves. Where is the party or opposition that has not been labeled extremist or outright radical just for asking rights? After the second wave, the feminist fervor seems to have been lost as women and other identities are not united in thought and action. Neither they have a common goal in sight nor they see eye to eye on the question of gender equality. Feminism needs a World Manifesto to represent the collective interest of all genders, and to achieve the ultimate goal of the feminist movement. The manifesto that answers what led to women being subjugated? How did men manipulate women into thinking that she needed to stay within four walls? Why could women break shackles in the 19th century only, but the fervor seems to have been lost? What exactly the modern world needs to restructure centuries of propaganda, manipulation and subjugation? The Manifesto will not only explain the historical process of creation of gender roles to make sense of the present, but it will also give a definite strategy for the much desired goal of every feminist in the gender equality in all spheres of life. It is high time that politico feminists openly face the world, and publish this “World Manifesto” in all languages.
Free today 08/31 & tomorrow 09/01, please enjoy The Chai House, the first novel in my speculative fiction series. Thank you so much! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08Q343WLL
I didn't realize how much of a feminist I was until I wrote and self-published my new book 'Proximity Factor'. Unexpectedly for me being a man, it hit all this groups goals:Strong female character
Social justice and gender equality
Race, class and sexuality

Thanks for the opportunity to "blatantly promote" my book!https://www.judithjacksonpomeroy.com/
My debut novel, Weight of a WomanWEIGHT OF A WOMAN, is a great fit for this group, but don't take my word for it, please check out Judith Jackson-Pomeroymy bio, blog (on Goodreads), and my website! I'd be happy to share a FREE copy with anyone who is willing to post a review on Goodreads (and social media accounts).
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
A professor of gender studies and sociology for over 20 years, Judith Jackson-Pomeroy retired her academic regalia to write women's fiction. When she's not writing, she earns her keep working as Research Collaborator/Senior Editor at The Justice and Gender-Based Violence Research Initiative at Wellesley Centers for Women, Wellesley College and as Acquisitions Editor for an acclaimed academic publisher.
Her fiction is described as a take on modern womanhood, with themes of sexual politics, mental health, and addiction that pushes back with humor on the redemptive narrative trope. Her writing features tartly funny, unapologetic, complicated female characters who will make you laugh, facepalm, and cry. Weight of a Woman is her debut.
BOOK DESCRIPTION:
A young professor who puts her job on the line when she is tempted by a career-threatening relationship with a student (who also happens to be a rock star. As she spins alternative truths about this and all her other self-destructive tendencies, including an eating disorder (it’s just an attempt to get back into her designer jeans), and flirting with inappropriate people (but only when she’s drunk, which is most of the time), her life descends into chaos. While her best friends, Professor Marco Gonzalvez (an award-winning poet) and Jane Curran (director of the campus-based Women’s Resource Center where, ironically, Sara counsels students with food issues), try to save her with liquor-ridden intervention parties, she only continues to increase her alcohol intake, lose more weight, and get closer to Poetry Boy (her famous pupil). Struggling to connect it all with the damage of a past sexual assault, she has some choices to make. None of them are predictable.
"In the spirit of Fleabag, this is a mischievously funny take on modern womanhood.”
"You'll facepalm, drop your jaw, and snicker, but you'll root for her too."
Thank you!
