Fantasy in a Celtic or Anglo-Saxon setting

The book that immediately springs to mind for me is Wolfsangel by M.D. Lachlan. It's more Viking-oriented than Anglo-Saxon, as far as I can recall, but it's around the same time period. Can't remember if any of it takes place in Britain, though! For pre-Roman Britain, or at least a very mythic version of it, I'd try Robert Holdstock, particularly Celtika.
I'm struggling to come up with much more than that, though, and those two only vaguely fit your criteria! For another pre-Roman one there's Age of Iron, and there's a recent Viking fantasy called Swords of Good Men, but I haven't read either so can't personally recommend them.
Maybe someone who's a bigger reader of historical fiction will have some more suggestions?

Kate Forsyth's Witches of Eileanan series was really good. There's also a follow up trilogy set in the same world.
Kate Forsyth's Witches of Eileanan series is definitely Celtic in nature, set in an Irish/Scottish type culture. Awesome series of 5 books-Sabine
Going a little further back ... The Island of the Mighty, etc., by Evangeline Walton. And The Complete Lyonesse by Jack Vance. Or maybe The Harp of the Grey Rose by Charles de Lint.
I'm currently reading Diana L. Paxson's Hallowed Isle series which is the King Arthor (Artor) legends retold with an Anglo-Saxon theme.
Katharine Kerr's Deverry series - starts with DaggerspellDiana L. Paxson and Morgan Llywelyn
And, if you can find them, almost everything by Kenneth C. Flint.
Strictly in the historical era? 'cause there's a long tradition of Celtic fantasy like Evangeline Walton's and Riddle-Master: The Complete Trilogy by Patricia A. McKillip
I highly recommend Bernard Cornwell's Saxon Stories, starting with The Last Kingdom. The main character is a delight to read about, a young Saxon in the turmoil of the British Isles invaded by the Danes, with battles scenes where you can hear the clash of shield against shield. He also wrote an Arthurian series which starts with The Winter King.

Anyone know of a good fantasy or historical fiction set in Celtic or Anglo-Saxon British Isles? Similar to or in the spirit of Last Light of the Sun by GGK, but by another author?
