Play Book Tag discussion

Hangover Square aptly named since the main characters are alcoholics. George Bone is an out-of-work man, alcoholic and smitten with Netta Longdon an out-of-work actress who is also an alcoholic. Netta has a group of “friends” that are always around her and drinking. These are unlikable characters in a cycle of predictable behavior. About half way through the book I felt things started to change and I was curious to read what would happen next so my desire and speed of reading picked up. Patrick Hamilton is a good writer and I enjoyed his style and the historical aspects of the book.

Interesting. Sounds dark which I tend to like.

I read this in 2011 and I had to go to my review to be reminded of it. I see that I gave it 4 stars, and I'm glad I read it. However, since it was 4 years ago, I can't now really discuss it. A few scenes come to mind, but that's it. One in particular took place in a pub (surprise, surprise).
