Starting off at the deep end, how did this collection make you feel? Did you enjoy or loath reading it, and why?

I had in my head going into it a collection of love poetry. I did not expect happiness throughout but I also did not expect the continuous darkness either. the love/obsession of the poems found inside is not a love that I know, which I think made it hard to enjoy and relate to.

Frances | 15 comments Yes I agree with Becks. This was not the joyous celebration of love that it might have been. It was also quite a narrow definition of love, though I suppose I could have guessed this might be the case from the title. It took me quite a while to read as I found I really had to stop and think about what was being said and meant.
I didn't dislike the poems because the language was melodic but I didnt necessarily agree with them or find they spoke to me.

Anne-Marie | 16 comments I really had to persevere with this book, I didn't particularly enjoy reading it. I agree, I was also expecting a more upbeat celebration of love and didn't really identify with the feelings expressed in most of the poems.
