I have often heard this theory:
The Dursleys were under the effect of a horcrux
"For years we thought the Dursleys were simply evil - but according to one Tumblr theory the Dursleys were influenced by dark forces. Remember in the last Harry Potter when Ron turns really horrible because of a few minutes of exposure to a horcrux? Well, the Dursleys were exposed to Harry Potter - who is a horcrux - for 10 years."

Ron is a time traveling dumbledore This has been a popular theory since 2004. It’s based on the idea that the chess game in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is an allegory for the series as a whole. Ron plays the knight and then the king – just like Dumbledore does in the larger war. There’s also the fact that they "look similar", they’re both described as tall and thin with a long nose, and they both have auburn hair (or Dumbledore did before it went white).
J.K. Rowling is Rita Skeeterthis theory goes Rita was banished from living in the magical world after it was discovered that so much of her work was fabricated.
She then went to live with the Muggles, and fell upon difficult times, so turned to writing in an effort to make a living for herself. This would mean Harry Potter is 100% true, which makes sense to us, no-one has that big of an imagination.
This Tumblr theory argues that Ron, Harry and Hermione should really be in Hufflepuff, Slytherin, and Ravenclaw respectively, but ended up in Gryffindor because they had the courage to ask.
This theory speculates that there were a number of wizards placed under the imperius curse, which meant Voldemort had complete control of their actions. It explains why he did not rise further in the Ministry of Magic, as well as some of the skeletons in the Weasley closest.
Within the wizarding world, Harry enjoys a particular sort of social privilege: not only is he The Boy Who Lived, he is also the son of James Potter, of the pure-blood Potter family. Due to his Muggle upbringing, Harry pays little notice to his own blood status, let alone anyone else’s. However, wizarding genealogy indicates that the son of Muggle-born Lily Evans and nephew of decidedly unmagical Petunia may belong to an ancestral chain that goes back generations into pure-blood history. Though Rowling mentions James Potter’s parents only in passing as a wealthy couple who had a child quite late in life, some clever fans have connected the dots and think they might know exactly who Mr. and Mrs. Potter are.The Noble and Most Ancient House of Black exemplifies the most rabid sort of pure-blood family, the kind which kept an elaborate family tree of their exclusively magical lineage dating back to the Middle Ages, and disowned any sons or daughters considered to be “blood traitors.” With their family motto of Toujours pur (“Always/Still pure”), the Blacks took cruel pride in burning off the names of such blood traitors from their family tree, preferring singed holes in the tapestry to acknowledgment of any impurity. Just as the tree links the Black family to the Malfoys, the Weasleys, the Prewetts, and other pure-blood families by marriage, it may also provide a link to Harry Potter himself, by way of Dorea Black’s marriage to Charlus Potter. These two, fans believe, are none other than James Potter’s elderly parents—Harry Potter’s grandparents.
I love most of these but some are really unrealistic. I've always liked the one about rita skeeter, but I don't think she would've written nice things about Harry because he was part of the reason she got banished.
Rita's theory is awesome. And there's another theory on the whole adventure/tragedy being harry's imagination.

Yeah It would be so cool.

I love Julia's Rita Skeeter/ JK Rowling theory. I haven't heard any others but if I do will write it.
I like the Rita Skeeter/JK Rowling resort and I believe it! HARRY POTTER IS REAL THEY SIMPLY CHANGED THE AGE THING!!
There is a theory that I believe, which is that Draco Malfoy is the hero of the Chamber of Secrets. The proof is that (if you have seen the movie), in the bookshop scene, when Weasleys & Co. are leaving the shop, Draco tears a page out of a book, then crumples it up and puts it in his pocket, before coming down to taunt Harry. Later in the story, when Harry and Ron go to the hospital wing to visit Hermione, Harry finds a crumpled up page torn out of a book in Hermione's hand. Could it be that Draco has overheard some inside information on The Chamber at home, and acted against it? And he decides on doing so by putting the paper about the Basilisk in one of the victims hands, for someone to find? Also, when Hermione is revived and meets Harry and Ron, she says that she cant believe that they figured it out by themselves, but then they say they couldn't have done it without her. When they say this, she thanks them, but looks very puzzled. Is it because when Harry and Ron say they couldn't have done it without her, they are thinking about the paper in her hand, but Hermione is puzzled and assumes they are talking about her making the Polyjuice Potion.
OMG this is so cool! My friend told me that the marauders map wasn't actually created by the marauders, it was created by the founders of Hogwarts but the marauders just took credit for it when they found it in the castle(I think it's weird...)

Not sure how much I agree with it but I definitely like it!

The theory that I came up with is this: If anyone has seen Fantastic Beats And Where to Find Them, then you will get this. In the third Harry Potter movie, when Fred and George gave Harry the Marauders Map, there was a sight of Newt Scamander on the map. My theory is that because Newt is an animal lover, and the time that Harry got the map is around Buck-beak's execution, that Newt was coming to see Dumbledore to stop the execution from happening.
I heard a theory one time that after a while George Wealsey became Gene Wilder's Willy Wonka! After i heard that i saw all the signs, like when he says "i'm a bit deaf in that ear", when everything in his office is cut in half (to symbol Fred, his deacesed other half, to the red hair, and prankster personality.
Hmmm that is interesting, but what about his Joke shop? Surely he wouldn't give that up to work in a Muggle/no-maj chocolate factory. And WHA ABOUT JOHNNY DEPP?? lol one of my fav actors....
True, but the chocalate factory does have some elements of the joke shop. I found the theory http://www.cracked.com/article_22658_... :)
Yes Crookshanks was remembered as Lily Potter. How did Crookshanks know why to kill Scabbers? The cat's eyes? These are all meanings. (? Idk ?)

Harry is Voldemort. Anybody heard the insanity behind that one? If not, please look it up. You will NEVER be able to read the books/watch the movies the same way again.
