Lily (theborkster) Hi, everyone!

I'm Lily and I'm from Oklahoma in the US. I recently graduated from college with a degree in linguistics and I did a lot of research on the Irish language (yes, I know it's rarely spoken but it's still my favorite!). Ever since then I've been trying to find interesting books set in Ireland or by Irish authors so I'm hoping to find some suggestions here. :) Making friends would be awesome, too, so feel free to add me!

Seraphina Welcome lily, I'm sure you'll find plenty of great Irish reads on the shelves here. Just in time for our quarterly reads too

Sheena Lambert (shewithonee) Hi Lily! If you'd like a read that would give you a good feeling for small town life in 1970s Ireland, try The Lake. It's set by a manmade lake called Glanaphuca (which you will know means Valley of the Ghosts!). I hope you enjoy it!
I'd highly recommend There are Little Kingdoms: Stories too! Sheena x (from Dublin)
