Since there is a town, perhaps there could be some sort of police station? I don't want any of my characters to own the station, but I was thinking the station could be old looking but be high tech and up to date, not completely up to date but techy enough to the point where the officers could still understand the technology but that it would look like something from out of imagination but it would have started out when the town first began being super low tech to match the tech of its time.
