Night Owl Reader (allnightreading) I saw this on another writing group, and thought it was very interesting.

The objective of the game is kinda hard to explain, so here is a example:

Poster 1: Unfortunately, the main character's dog died.

Poster 2: Fortunately, the dog was magical, and came back to life using up her extra life.

Poster 3: Unfortunately, the dog accidentally fell of the cliff while getting excited over being alive again.

Poster 4: Fortunately, at the bottom of the cliff was a small deep pond.

You go back and forth like this, trying to think up unfortunate events that happen in a story, and the next poster have to follow up with a fortunate event. When stops making sense, we can start up with a new beginning.

I'll start us off...

Unfortunately, I was picked last again for Dodgeball.
(The next person writes something fortunate, and then it goes back to unfortunate.)

fortunatly, I didn;t have to Play the rest of the game.

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

Unfortunately, the game was 3 hours long and I had to sit on the bench the whole time.

message 6: by Night Owl (new)

Night Owl Reader (allnightreading) Fortunately, I had my favorite book just sitting inside my backpack.

message 7: by Leo (new)

Leo (owlseeyoulater) | 12 comments Unfortunately, a stray ball nocked the book out of my hands into the mud, just as I was pulling it out.

message 8: by Night Owl (new)

Night Owl Reader (allnightreading) (Lol that was good!)

message 9: by TessaMarie (new)

TessaMarie Beard | 362 comments Mod
fortunatly I had another book with me

message 10: by Night Owl (new)

Night Owl Reader (allnightreading) Unfortunately, it was my calculus textbook.

message 11: by TessaMarie (new)

TessaMarie Beard | 362 comments Mod
fortunatly I happened to like math

message 12: by Leo (new)

Leo (owlseeyoulater) | 12 comments Unfortunately, the sound of a tsunami siren suddenly filled the air.

message 13: by TessaMarie (new)

TessaMarie Beard | 362 comments Mod
fortunatly, that meant the game was over

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

Unfortunately, we would be dead in minutes if we didn't leave.

fortunatly, the School had an excellent emergency procedure

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

Unfortunately, the teachers forgot it and we didn't have a piece of paper to tell us what to do.

message 17: by Leo (new)

Leo (owlseeyoulater) | 12 comments Fortunately, the emergency procedure didn't need any teachers to enact it, and a great big raft suddenly inflated itself under the whole school.

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

Unfortunately, it popped.

message 19: by Leo (new)

Leo (owlseeyoulater) | 12 comments Fortunately, we could all swim really well.

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

Unfortunately, our ankles were tied to rocks, thanks to a dumb science experiment everyone was doing.

message 21: by Leo (new)

Leo (owlseeyoulater) | 12 comments Fortunately, the knots were simple and easy to untie.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

Unfortunately, they were glued with gorilla glue.

message 23: by TessaMarie (new)

TessaMarie Beard | 362 comments Mod
Fortunately some one remembered that we could just cut the ropes with scissors.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

Unfortunately, we dropped the scissors.

message 25: by TessaMarie (new)

TessaMarie Beard | 362 comments Mod
fortunatly we had more than one pair

message 26: by Night Owl (new)

Night Owl Reader (allnightreading) Unfortunately it was a very dull scissor that would take at least two hours to cut through.

message 27: by J. (new)

J. d'Merricksson (jaislynn) | 6 comments Fortunately, there was a whetstone to sharpen the scissors in the kitchen

message 28: by TessaMarie (new)

TessaMarie Beard | 362 comments Mod
Unfortunately, the kitchen had been blown up

message 29: by Night Owl (new)

Night Owl Reader (allnightreading) Fortunately, the world record holder for holding your breath underwater the longest, happens to be a kid who goes to our school, and he volunteered to cut our ropes for us.

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

Unfortunately, an unexpected wave pushed him underwater and he drowned.

message 31: by Night Owl (new)

Night Owl Reader (allnightreading) Fortunately, his sister goes to the same school as him, and is relatively good at holding her breath underwater too.

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

Unfortunately, she got eaten by a shark.

message 33: by Night Owl (new)

Night Owl Reader (allnightreading) (LOL So evil! Sorry, can't think of something to follow up on that! Someone else go!)

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

(Thank you! I'll go again.)

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

Fortunately, the shark was eaten by another shark, so we didn't get splattered with human remains.

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

(I know that was weird but I couldn't think of anything else)

message 37: by Night Owl (new)

Night Owl Reader (allnightreading) (No, I like that you think outside of the box! LOL You could've just just waited until someone else went!)

message 38: by TessaMarie (new)

TessaMarie Beard | 362 comments Mod
Unfortunatly the shark was still hungary.

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

Fortunately, we were able to hide before it turned us into a midnight snack.

message 40: by TessaMarie (new)

TessaMarie Beard | 362 comments Mod
Unfortunatly, we were still drowning

message 41: by J. (new)

J. Devau (imightbethathumanyouknow) | 16 comments Fortunately our hiding place turned out to be an underwater cavern with plenty of air pockets to surface in!

message 42: by TessaMarie (new)

TessaMarie Beard | 362 comments Mod
Unfortunatly, there were so many of us, we only had a few minutes before we ran out of air

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

Fortunately, there were hundreds of the caverns so everybody got their own.

message 44: by Night Owl (new)

Night Owl Reader (allnightreading) Unfortunately, that didn't prevent some of the more popular kids from getting greedy and killing other less popular kids to stay alive.

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

Fortunately, the popular kids were weak and the unpopular kids just pretended to be dead.

message 46: by TessaMarie (new)

TessaMarie Beard | 362 comments Mod
Unfortunatly, the popular Kids were not idiots

message 47: by Night Owl (new)

Night Owl Reader (allnightreading) Fortunately, some of the unpopular kids were inventive geeks that invented really awesome weapons out of scraps they found.

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

Unfortunately the unpopular kids were not good fighters, so the weapons were useless to them.

message 49: by Night Owl (new)

Night Owl Reader (allnightreading) Fortunately, the weapons were invented to do the fighting for them, so all they had to do was aim and fire.

message 50: by [deleted user] (last edited Feb 20, 2016 03:09AM) (new)

Unforunately the weapons back-fired at the unpopular kids.
