I've read several of the author's books before so I'll put it in our list for sure. We have a conversation for book recommendations for the future. It would help if you put those in there so they're all in one place.

Insta-love doesn't bother me, because it's a fairy tale.
Oh, everyone is conveniently unenchanted at the end? Doesn't bother me. It's a fairy tale.
Of course, the author puts her own flavor into everything, but the basic fairy tale structure is there, right down to the rule of threes.
You know, in the first book, Sophie begins by thinking she is in a normal fairy tale, and that entire idea is turned upside down, and Sophie creates her own separate story, away from her "oldest child never prospers" syndrome.
But in this one, we actually get the fairy tale stuff for real. Abdullah IS the underdog who marries the princess with the help of a magic carpet and a genie. I love it! I never know what to expect from this author!
I started out wondering, "Where's Sophie and Howl?" but when they appeared later on, it was just so perfect to know that they had already been in the story all along! OMG, I was NOT expecting that! I loved it, and I was so surprised and delighted.
