At my high school the stereotypes/cliques were pretty actuate. Back then my hometown was a small country town, so we had the athletes, cheerleaders, band geeks, loners, Cowboys, goth, etc., and they basically stayed in their roles. Sure, we had a few that went from not only being an athlete but they were smart and/or nice. My role in high school was, I don't know, didn't really have a label. I was in choir and had a lot of friends that were in these cliques. But I guess I would've been label a nerd because of my love for books.I could have never done what Dave and Julia did and they also did kind of have a label. They were somewhat a loner because if I remember correctly, Dave said that even when he did hang out with some guys from school, he would've rather been alone or with Julia. And he made it seem like Julia only hung out with him. I don't know if I'm correct on that. Their decision took away from their overall high school experience. They could have still did nothing from the never list but they could of had other friends.

Yes, it came off as Dave would prefer to only hang out with Julia but had potential friendships at school where Julia was only friends with Dave. I think they would have definitely had more high school experiences, maybe not the same ones from the never list, but overall more friends and high school experiences with other people.
How are you enjoying the book? Are you still reading it?

I'm in the process of moving and my boyfriend and I had a small hiccup (where we broke up and the next day got back together). But I'm still loving it!!!

Moving is exciting! Oh, yikes! Hope everything's well now and I'll keep a look out whenever you're back to read it and have any discussions posted. Great to hear you're loving it so far.

Dave and Jamie don't want to be defined from their high school stereotypes, which is one reason why they've decided to only be observers. However, they attend their first high school party and start to second guess themselves.
Do you think their decision took away from their overall high school experience or benefited them?
