I must admit that I'm a bit confused with all the names...soothsayer, cartomancers, rephaim, ... And then what is the deal with the dial thing? And what exactly are mime-lords?
I guess we'll get more answers as the story continues. But I am confused.

It is kind of confusing at the beginning but it explains itself later. :-)

Same here, it kinda confused me a lot at first but I kinda got used to it. The world is very original and cool and so is the world building. But I feel that some things on the plot remind me a lot of other books

The Hunger Game because they collect people (each year in THG, each decade here), Shatter Me because of the whole 'in a cage' thing and a bit of Daughter of Smoke And Bone because of the way the Rephaim are described?

Yeah, the initiation kinda reminds me of Divergent in that it's really violent. Do you think that Paige and Warden will get together? I really hope not but I think it's been hinted at (the Tarot Reading, but this might be in the 2. part)
I totally understand that! It definitely took me a while too. From the second part on it got easier for me though. I hope it'll be the same with you!But how do you like the premise so far? Are you interested in the whole spirit/clairvoyance aspect of it?
The premise is pretty cool, but I agree with an earlier comment it sort of feels like the Hunger Games or even Divergent a tiny bit.
I hate the captor/lover-thing that a lot of books have going on. Being a slave is creepy! They really shouldn't fall in love if the power balance between the two is THAT off!
I hate that so much!
I'm still hoping that Paige is better than that :(
It kind of annoyed me in Shatter Me as well. The tjing that got me to pass tjis and love the book is the poetic writing!!
But okay, we are talking about Bone Season here so I'll srop the Shatter Me appreciation post xD
I hope that too although I am sure. I really like Nick!!

OMG you did not like Shatter Me?
I ADORED it.
Well, whatever, that's opinions. Although I think that your wish won't be granted because the 'Lovers' card that Liss showed...
I hope this does not count as a spoiler

So the thing about Shatter Me was the premise sounded so good, a girl who hurts people with her touch and then it goes downhill when Juliet falls in love with the guy (don't remember his name) in like 5 seconds. Like really? You've been locked up for pretty much your whole life, you're not wary of this guy at all? I get that she knew him from before but still. Also I don't really like romances, but that's just me.
You don't like romances! Awesome! Me neither, I always feel alone in that regard.
I agree with Mary, the lover's card does not bode well...
Didn't like Shatter Me series either. The first one was okay but the moment I knew the were going to "switch" romances in a weird way I was like: I'm out. Bye.About Bone Season. I'm in the part where she's gonna start the training with Warden. Am I too behind? :/
I'm having some trouble with Uni exams and keeping up...
Yay! I found someone who doesn't like romances, everyone thinks I'm crazy. I don't mind it as a side plot as long as it's done right though. You're not too far behind, it took me a bit to get through the beginning and even then I kinda skimmed a bit :/
No you are not far. Also, I adore fluffy romances but HATE love triangles, except of some special occasions like Shatter Me, the Kiss of Deception and The Infernal Devices
Phew! Good to know! I'll keep reading as much as possible.I never like triangles... like ever. Just choose one person dammit or none of them and go live your life -_-
For me, it's like the girl's life becomes 1000000000000% better after meeting him and it's annoying, but yea unnecessary love triangles are terrible
Indeed tbh.
Back to Bone Season. It has started to get really excited in the part I am right now

I just finished it. I didn't really like how it turned out, I think the plot was good but just poorly executed. Also, the beginning was kind of annoying to read because it was difficult to get started.

Don't spoil please:)

Yeah!!
Well...I liked the ending to be honest but overall, I didn't really care about neither a new rebellion, nor the rise of the Emim or how now the Seven Dials are tied with the red string of fate as well. I don't really know I guess...
Oh and by the way, we should start our suggestions for the March book of the month
Yeah!!
