Raven Cycle Read Along discussion

Hi,

My name is Michelle. I picked up the Raven Boys early last year as a buddy read with my friend Jody (the other host of this read along). I had read Shiver by Stiefvater in the past but hadn't touched her work since. I enjoyed Shiver but no where near as much as I loved The Raven Boys.

This read along started as just a buddy reread for Jody and I. We then got excited about included some of our followers and subscribers. I have been enjoying buddy reads a lot lately and wanted to share this experience with more people. I think that with The Raven King coming out in April (hopefully it doesn't get pushed back again) that many people will be picking the series up or rereading it.

I can't wait to hear from all our new members and to start this read along. I hope that everyone participates in the photo challenges and enters to win the beautiful prizes.

Hi, I'm Denisa! I've read The Raven Boys before, I picked it up because Maggie became one of my fave authors while I was reading Shiver. The Raven Boys if one of my all time favourite series, and I'm excited to do a read along and join discussions!

I loved Shiver too. I dont know why I never continued on with the series. The Raven Cycle is perfection. I'm so glad you'll be joining in on the discussions! I'm glad so many people are joining. I'm hoping for lively discussions!

Hey guys. I'm Caroline and Maggie has been my favourite writer since I first read Shiver all those years ago. I absolutely love The Raven Cycle - it's one of my favourite YA series - so I'm really excited to reread the books with other fans and join the discussions. Hi there! My name is Karina and this will be my first time reading the series. I attempted to read Raven Boys once early last year but for some reason I couldn't get into it. But everyone keeps on talking about it and I decided to give it a second chance. I have planned to read Scorpio Races this month to see if I like her writing and I am happy to join in on the readalong.

I'm glad you'll be joining us. I started Scorpio Races a couple years ago and couldn't get into it either. I find that the Raven Cycle pulls you in and gets better and better as the pages, and books progress.

I know what you mean about the wait. Anytime I have a buddy read plan I always get antsy and want to start early. I'm very excited about this read along. March first cant come soon enough!

My name is Simran and the Raven cycle is my favorite YA series. I read the series last year and couldn't put it down. It has all the the things that I want from a book. I have been desperately waiting for the the final book, The Raven King, but I am not sure if I can take what the end will be. I would love to re-read the series with everyone here. I totally understand. I will include you in read Along's in the future. I've seen some of the books that you've read and have noticed you don't read many YA. Currently I'm doing a buddy read with several people. We are reading Nicholas and Alexandra. It's a non fiction book about the Romanovs. We are only through part one and its a month long buddy read. That book seems more up your alley.

OOOOOO Nicholas and Alexandra! I "borrowed" my mother-in-law's copy and it's on my TBR pile. Definitely interested in that!!

Hi! I go by Nova, and I've been purchasing and hoarding the books as they were released -- and just never read them. Why? I don't know, honestly, but now that the fourth book is getting ready to come out, I've decided I need to get on the bandwagon finally and read the books. This group came along at just the right time!

Well I'm glad your book hoarding has come in handy, Nova. I totally understand buying books and taking a while to get to them. The covers for this series are irresistible. I'm glad you'll be joining us for the read along.

Hi! I'm Jaclyn, but a lot of people either call me Jacy (Lacey but with a J) or Jace. Whichever you prefer id cool ^.^ I actually read the Shiver trilogy by Maggie and the Scorpio Races. I have only read The Raven Boys because that's the only book in the series that my high school library held, but I purchased the whole series today on Amazon (pre-ordered The Raven King) and I'm super stoked to actually read this series because I do believe it will be the best thing I've ever read from Stiefvater.

I totally understand. I'm not very good at photography either. Even with our modern screens that you can see before you take the picture, I still cut people's heads off.

Even if you don't take good pictures, as long as you take one and hashtag it #RavenCycleReadAlong you are entered to win the mini print from Maggie Steifvater's Society Six shop that she drew of the boys. All of the prizes are pretty cool.

Hi I'm Margrethe, or Meggi :D I read The Scorpio Races back in 2013 and fell in love with Maggie's writing. It's now one of my absolute favourite books! I then picked up The Raven Boys and loved it so much. I can't wait to reread it and see all the characters again. I'm so excited for The Raven King, it's been a long wait!

Just by the summary on the back, I wasn't sure if it would grab my attention right away or if it would take a while to get into it, but so far I am hooked. I am so happy that everyone is having a blast reading this series with us. Jody and I are loving it! We love this series and it warms our hearts to hear that you guys love it too.

I've been living, and breathing The Raven Boys this week. While listening to my music I heard First Aid Kit's song Shattered and Hollow, I couldn't help but see Blue and Adam in my mind.

Jody and I were fan casting the other night and we couldn't find someone for Ronan. Tonight I was watching The Voice with my husband and I shouted out, "Holy cow Adam Levine would be a great Ronan. Too bad he's too old to act as a teen in a movie adaptation."
