Hi Irene. I sent you an amazon gift voucher for All Smoke Rises. I also sent one for MILK-BLOOD, which is the origin story for Lilly. Both are fast read, both in content and in page numbers (about 115 each) and the story has been optioned for film. Thanks for your interest.

Irene wrote: "thank you very much :) I will leave a review afterwards at amazon, my blog, and goodreads"Wonderful. I hope you are in the US, only because if otherwise, the kindle vouchers may not work. If that's the case, shoot me an email and I'll go to plan B.
Yes I am in the US. RI to be exact.I have not gotten the email from amazon yet but I know they are slow to send sometimes.

Should all be there now. If not there by later today, I'll resend. Thanks Irene.

something is wrong. when I click the links in the email I get this message
We’re having trouble locating your Kindle Book gift.
Please re-open your gift notification e-mail and follow the instructions to accept your gift again. If you continue to experience an issue, please contact Kindle Customer Service and reference the Gift ID number found in your gift notification e-mail.
Ahhhhh!!!! Let me try again from another email. (Xmarkm@gmail) and resend. Sorry about this. I've done this a million times without problems
I am sure it's not your fault. I have received kindle books before too with no problem. It has to be an amazon screw up. I have the emails that say you have sent a book gift but when I click it to claim I get that message that amazon is unable to locate it, even though it shows the name of the book and a picture of the cover. I have emailed amazon support about it. we will have to see if they are of any help. I hope you are not out any money from doing this. did amazon make you purchase your own book?
I do have to purchase my own book in order to gift it. However, 70% of it comes back to me, so it's well worth it to get the word out. I tried on two accounts, hopefully the xmarkm@gmail is reaching you for it should be working as it shows as ordered. Maybe its stuck in spam, maybe amazon has some gremlins, or maybe my books have been banned. Wouldn't that be nice?
I will just email the mobi version by end of the day if this doesnt' work. vouchers are so much easier for the reader and reviewer, I think, which is why I go that route.
Thanks much Irene! I do think they are worth it!

oh my good grief I finally have them. It isn't that your gift emails didn't come, it is that clicking the link in them brought up an amazon page that said my gift could not be located. I was on the phone with amazon for over a half hour. They sent me a screen share which I never heard of, so that customer service could see what I see on my kindle and they tried over and over to click the gift link themselves and it still came up as unable to locate, and finally they transferred me to someone who spoke English a little clearer. She could not do it either and I suggested they should refund you for your gift, since they are not letting me claim it. so she sent me an instant gift card for the amount of the books so I could just purchase them myself. Anyway I finally have them both. which should I read first?
Oh my! The work you've done. Thanks for your efforts and start with Milk-Blood. (About 125 pages) and thanks again. You're a resilient one.
I don't give up easily that's for sure lol.I'll start it tonight or in the morning. I have a dental appointment to look forward to this afternoon. I probably could have read half of it in the time it took amazon to give me an English speaking customer service agent :)

Well, I promise the book will be better than getting a tooth pulled. I have had some issues with amazon customer service when they loaded a book wrong. They are prompt to respond by email, but once I called them, I got bounced around to all sorts of strange places.
You delivered on your promise, I finished the first book and it was much better than my dental appointment LOL.I left my review everywhere :)

From MICHAEL A. ARZNEN, Four Time Bram Stoker Award Winning Author"As a horror writer, I get asked all the time for recommendations for new books and authors in the genre beyond the usual things you find on the supermarket shelves. Lately, I've been recommending Mark Matthews. His "milk-blood" books are really original and modern takes on streetwise noir -- bold examples of gritty realism cast through a blood-red horror lens. He's tackling contemporary fears and societal issues head-on -- charging into them head-first, actually -- and once you read his work it tackles you: there's no escaping the emotional scars that it will inflict on you. It's unforgettable.
The latest "redux" called All Smoke Rises -- a sequel to his unforgettable Milk-Blood novel, which you definitely should read first -- is an unusual and surprising return to the scary world of drug addiction, fanned by the flames and pain, twists and truth, sin and survival. He gets the psychology right, but the story starts to pick at the edges of reality until the boundary lines are no longer clear. The devil is red, bright red, in this short novella, and the plot flares out quick. The writing is tight and the pace quick and when you read his book the whole thing feels like a rush to the head. Few new writers are doing horror with such intensity. Inject it into your mind and you'll see what I mean. It just might make you glow."
If it is not too late and still available, I would like a PDF copy. Thanks,
