Lissa Oliver | 36 comments Hi, that's a very good question! I receive Statements twice a year from my publisher with royalties and breakdowns of sales, although they are only broken down into paperback and ebook.
My three titles with Maverick House all sell on Google Play, but whether they are more successful via that platform than Kubo or Kindle, etc, I can't say. But ebooks of my titles definitely sell in much larger quantities annually than paperbacks and for a larger royalty percentage, too, which is good news for authors. It has to be worth using every available platform, to widen your market. I have asked Maverick House for a detailed breakdown, which should help, and will post the result later. Lissa

I'm told that from a publishing perspective, Google Play is among the easiest platforms to upload eBooks to and track sales. It also has a unique feature for books that haven't been found on any other platform: when you search for one of my books, the entire series of books comes up. This is so helpful and a great use of metadata on Google Play's behalf. It is a steady platform, not best known, perhaps, for selling books, but my publisher is confident that this will change in the next few years as more people migrate to their phones to read.
