I have a shelf in my books entitled "Anabaptist". You are welcome to look in there. It includes Mennonites, Quakers, Shakers, Hutterites and the Amana Colony.
I am reading a book right now called Joshua ' s Mission by Vannetta Chapman and the main characters are Amish but heading down to TX to help with MDS, Mennonite Disaster Services, after a hurricane.

I also really enjoyed the Mennonite fiction by Kim Vogel Sawyer called The Zimmerman Restoration Trilogy. Titles were When Mercy Rains, When Love Returns, and When Grace Sings.
Hannah ' s Choice by Jan Dexter is about an Amish Family in 1842 and delves into some differences between Amish and Mennonite and how it was affecting the families of a small community back then.
Thank you for those suggestions Brittany. The first Mennonite themed stories I read was the Sommerfield trilogy by Kim Vogel Sawyer~ Bygones/Beginnings/Blessings....loved it!Hannah's Choice sounds very interesting.
I also have shelf titled Anabaptist- you're welcome to browse through it- includes several books by Kim V.Sawyer, my favorite was- When Hope Blossoms.

I also really enjoyed the Road to Kingdom series by Nancy Mehl that included the books Inescapable, Unbreakable, and Unforseeable.
And I have read the first two books in the Funding Sanctuary series by Nancy Mehl. Combination of Mennonite and English. Three books are Gathering Shadows, Deadly Echoes, and Rising Darkness.
The titles by Nancy Mehl sound very promising.Thank you all so much for leading me to so many great titles.
I just don't understand why are they all tagged "Amish" and none are tagged "Mennonite"? Since Amish and Mennonites are two entirely different sects, why aren't the books kept separate... even in this forum?
For my bookshelves, I am tagging the Mennonite ones as Mennonite and not Amish at all, to keep them separate. :]
your bookshelf appears to interest me; I've requested friendship so I can keep it in my view; thanks.

It is always a pleasure to discover new authors from readers with similar tastes.
My TBR list has already grown, through this thread, and I am so looking forward to some enjoyable reading ahead.
Thank you again for the friendship request. :D
I read a memoir recently by a former professor of mine that evokes Mennonite life quite well. It's called Blush: A Mennonite Girl Meets a Glittering World. It is more her "memoirs" than slice-of-life memoir, but the childhood stories she tells are rich and authentic. I enjoyed it & recommend it to anyone wanting to know about our culture more from an authentic Mennonite voice.

I read this eons ago, and it's very well-written historic fiction, "Peace Shall Destroy Many" by Rudy Wiebe. It's not a love story, but depicts Canadian Mennonite life & conflicts around their pacifist stance during wartime. As a Mennonite author, I lapped this book up. There are so few depictions about Mennonites BY Mennonites! This might have been the very first, actually, that got international attention.
Good suggestion, I do have "Peace Shall Destroy Many" and also~ "Sweeter Than All The World" by Rudy Wiebe on my TBR list.
I just ordered "Sweeter..." after someone recommended it on a similar Amazon discussion. I'll let you know how it is!

Would love title suggestions. Would especially enjoy romances between Amish and Mennonite. Stories like ~
It would also be great to see a group like this one for Mennonite book readers.
