message 19: by Laura (new)

Laura Hi Camilla & Ray!
Awesome we have a great mix..... I'm from Canada!
So last night I found a few of those hard to find " v" books. I put them on my Overdrive wishlist and put a few on inter library loans!

When everyone gets a chance can they please link up their UNO shelves and I'll add them with mine above.

Yeah to Friday's Jingle!!! It's a long weekend for us as Monday is a holiday!!

message 22: by Laura (new)

Laura I've sent out friend requests to the teamies who have checked in already. It makes it easier to check your UNO shelf as well I'd recommend everyone do it as we have a few reverse cards -Easy access to each others shelves to see what we have all read.

Heather your profile is private can you send me a friend request please?

I'll link those shelves tomorrow when I get on my computer.

2. Umm, really difficult to choose only one... Maybe The Stand

3. 1-star reads this year: The Island, A Room with a View, The Void, A Stranger North, Mortis, The Snow and The Darkness. Several 2-star reads; I'm quite frugal with giving stars.

4. Definitely Pines and Wayward; now I'm waiting to get the third book from the library.

Laura Laura wrote: "A little book fun while we wait for the challenge to begin!!!

1. what is your favorite genre(s ) to read?

I love YA, mystery, historical fiction

2. Recommend us your favorite book.
Hard to pick just one.

Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys The Book of Negroes by Lawrence Hill

3. What book did you give 1 or 2 stars this year?
Marked (Soul Guardians, #1) by Kim Richardson Do not read!!!

4. Favorite Book this year so far is

again hard to pick one...
Career of Evil (Cormoran Strike, #3) by Robert Galbraith The Magician's Lie by Greer Macallister

message 28: by Laura (new)

Laura I've linked our shelves in message #6. I 'll get everyone else when they arrive!

Sending out messages to the others and hoping they arrive soon though there is still 16 days until we officially start!

message 29: by Laura (new)

Laura Karen sent me a tracking spreadsheet that she found very handy last year. I 've linked it at the bottom of message 6. If everyone enters their own books in this spreadsheet it would be easier for Heather and I to fit them on our team spreadsheet. It lets us see the options for each book. (there may be some juggling to fit books especially at the end of the month. I've seen a few readers squeeze in a few books just under the deadline!!)

I 've entered in a book I plan to read when the challenge starts so that everyone sees an example! I am a picky reader ..if I don't like a book I usually grab another and what I read depends what loans I have in from the library or from my OverDrive! (so I will add more books closer to the challenge)

If you can't access the spreadsheet PM your email!

message 42: by Laura (new)

Laura Once I get home tonight I'll add those shelves and share that tracking spreadsheet with you all

message 43: by Laura (new)

Laura Hope you are feeling better Jingles!

message 44: by H (new)

H (hiisdaarkmaaterials) | 133 comments Favourite Genre... I enjoy many genres but I have to say there is rarely anything I enjoy more than a superbly written historical fiction!

Recommend your favourite book... A tough one as I have many but I would have to say 'This is All - The Pillowbook of Cordelia Kenn' by Aidan Chambers. It's been a favourite for almost a decade now and still stays strong. Really beautiful book.

What book did you give 1/2 stars to this year?...Little Girl Gone by Alexandra Burt! It was just frustrating and poorly knitted together. A book that needed a hell of a lot more work before being released.

Favourite book read in 2016 so far...I've read three books I've really enjoyed this year so far - The Green Mile by Stephen King, Career of Evil (Cormoran Strike #3) by Robert Galbraith but my favourite would have to be the third which is Blood & Beauty: The Borgias by Sarah Dunant - some excellent historical fiction right there!

message 45: by Laura (new)

Laura If anyone wants access to the tracking spreadsheet you can send me your email in a PM.

message 46: by Laura (new)

Laura Heather... or anyone else.. did you get to watch TWD last night??

message 47: by H (new)

H (hiisdaarkmaaterials) | 133 comments Well. Funny story there, I left Ireland in January 2015, right before the next season was due to recommence. And I haven't seen a NEW episode since then as I don't have Sky anymore. I've read what happened last night though!

message 48: by Laura (new)

Laura Heather wrote: "Well. Funny story there, I left Ireland in January 2015, right before the next season was due to recommence. And I haven't seen a NEW episode since then as I don't have Sky anymore. I've read what ..."

It was one of the best episodes ever! I'll leave it at that since you didn't see it! I think I might go a little crazy if I couldn't watch it. It drives my co-worker batty as I watch it Sunday night and then she streams it on Monday and we can't talk about it until Tuesday!

message 49: by H (new)

H (hiisdaarkmaaterials) | 133 comments It's really frustrating, I've been rewatching old seasons as I iron to satisfy. Last nights episode sounds so intense, it's crazy to read how far the character bonds have come. Just waiting for Negan now...

message 50: by Laura (new)

Laura Tiny update:
I sent out messages to our missing members with a link to our thread but no luck so far. Karen has sent out PM'S to all missing members from all teams. Hopefully they will sign in or we will have new players!
