Hey! I've already requested everyone as a friend, but it would be amazing if you linked your bookshelf you will be using for the challenge. Thanks!
I'm excited to meet a bunch of new people! It doesn't look like I know anybody in this group. So, where is everybody from? I live in Southern California, with my hubby, 6 girls, 6 cats, and 16 chickens. And one more: Are you new to challenges, or a challenge addict like me? I admit I was new to challenges when I signed up for Uno last year. But one game led to another, and now I wouldn't know what to read next if it wasn't for challenges. I have noticed that I watch less tv in the last year. :)
Last question: Do you plan out your reading for the month in advance, or do you just pick up whatever strikes your fancy? Once we know how everyone prefers to operate we can decide how we want to play. Last year there were teams whose members posted each book as they read it and the captains just put it in where it was needed, and there were teams where each member said at the beginning of the month a list of books they planned to read. And then as extra books were read we filled in the gaps. Either way works!
Hi everyone! I'm Lauri from Hawaii and I'm thrilled to be here! My terrible confession: I've never played Uno before in my life. Somehow it must've just passed me by. I'm new to the groups and the challenges, but I'm already addicted. I normally read between 10-15 books a month. I have OCD and ADD simultaneously. I can read 5-12 books (or more) at the same time. I jump back and forth between them. This is a blessing and a curse. So utilize me in any way you need. I read just about everything with a weakness for cozy mysteries and paranormal adventures...
Hi everyone!I'm Drishti from India. I'm 14, so yes, I'm still dealing with the horrible thing called school.
Here's a link to my shelf: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...
I joined Goodreads last year in January. But, I've started to be active only since October last year. I've done two team challenges and am doing three at the moment. I would call myself a newbie for now.
I can read almost anything which is fantasy, mythology or mystery. Just discovered a liking for realistic fiction in the past few months. I'm trying to read a classic every month this year too and am realizing that they are not that bad after all. But, I just can't get through historical fiction and non-fiction.
Hi Lauri! *jumps with excitement* So good to see a familiar face here!!! BTW I've never played UNO too. No worries! We're in the same boat.

How can you read so many books at the same time?! I mostly stick to one or two. Maximum three.
I read the rules before signing up, but I don't get some things here and there. So, can anyone who has done this challenge before give me a bit of overview? One more thing, I have exams coming up from March 10. They'll end March 26. So, I'm currently studying all the time. But, I still manage to slip in some reading time. But, my activity on Goodreads and my reading during March 10-26 will be a little erratic. I thought of informing you before I forget amidst all the crazy studying.
Hey guys!! I am from Texas. I joined Goodreads last year and have been addicted since. I love team challenges. They are a blast. I haven't played this challenge, so I cant wait. I will read pretty much anything but I prefer thriller and historical fiction. I have gotten into Sci-fi lately and have enjoyed most of the books I have read in that genre. I do not plan ahead on what books I am going to read. I usually just read a book that fits a task.
Hey! I'm from Georgia, and I'm still in high school. Though I am lucky enough to have a reading class where I can read books! I have already started a list of what I plan to read in March, but many of the books can be used for different cards.
Hey guys! Lakshmi from India here! I'm 13 so I'm dealing with school right now *groan*.My shelf
I'm kind of a newbie..... I'm doing 3 at the moment but these are the first times I've come close to completing a challenge so.....

Mumbai? That's great! I'm from Punjab.
So if you do like to plan ahead of time, please tell me which cards you are planning to read! The format should look something like this: x Hand, Card x {link to book} {reason}. Ex. First Hand, Card Nine Landline Character name begins with N. Please make sure a card you're asking for isn't already taken. Thanks!
I changed my mind and thought of planning a bit for Hand One. Here are my plans:1. First hand, Card four Insurgent Character with a first name, surname or nickname starting with F
2. First Hand, Reverse Queen of Shadows Laura has read it

I don't know if something is really wrong with me or not... I skip back and forth. Sometimes I leave a book lie for months and come back to it. I still remember what's happening & can pick it up again with no problem. That's why I say I have OCD & ADD -- I want to read series/authors in publication order BUT I will pick up anything else along the way. I am very easily distracted:)
Ok. Now you will all know that I am terribly backward BUT How do you link your shelf and what-all do I need to do. I noticed that everyone's shelf is so far empty....Color me even more confused than usual.......
You can just tell me have you have named it. Most people will add their books to the chat before adding it to their shelf. I'm adding all my books directly to the spreadsheet and will put them on my shelf this afternoon!
Ok. I've been studying up - hopefully correctly. I plan to read Our Souls at Night
for hand one, card 1 - title begins with O.
I did set up a shelf, but still can't figure out how to link it...
Bear with me, please! I did name it UNO 2016...
Some other books:1. First hand, Card eight Room Author first name or surname starts with E
2. Second hand, Card five The Last Olympian Book 5 in a series
3. Second hand, Reverse book:Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them|41899] Lakshmi has read it
4. Third hand, Card six Carry On
5. Third hand, Card seven The Transfer author first name or surname starts with V
6. Fourth hand, Reverse Let It Snow Lakshmi has read it
7. Fifth hand, Card Four Breaking Dawn book 4 in a series
8. Sixth hand, Card Six Allegiant Book 3 in a series

Lauri, the shelves are empty because we can't start reading until March 1. So, if you know some of your March reading now, feel free to put the books on your shelf. Or just put them on as you read them. That's what I do. When I start a new book I mark it as Currently reading and also put it on the shelves of any challenges it will apply for. That way when I finish it I don't have to worry about that.
To link your shelf, just copy and paste the URL at the top of the page when you have clicked on your shelf. That will make it look like Drishti's link.
To make the link look real words, like some of the others, there are instructions located at the top of the comment box. Click that link that says (some html is ok). There are instructions in there to make a link. You use your URL, in place of the generic goodreads URL in the example, and type whatever text you want your link to say.
Drishti wrote: "5. Third hand, Card seven The Transfer author first name or surname starts with V"Books must be at least 100 pages. Are you by any chance reading Four: A Divergent Story Collection? That has enough pages.

Yikes! Ok I will do it on Tuesday when I get to an actual computer. I'm on my iPad now... Thanks so much!
Okay! I think I'm with the program now. Love the spreadsheet, btw. You're all overachievers. :)For hand 1, card 7 I can readThe Case of the Man Who Died Laughing because the MC's name is Vish Puri.

I hadn't planned to read Four: A Divergent Story Collection. Just The Transfer. But, no problem. I'll read Four for the task.
If you don't want to, no problem. I'm sure we can find something else. Our spreadsheet is already pretty full, and I haven't put any of my books in there. I read about 25 books a month. :)

Consequently I think I am fascinated by crime stories, depression and other mental illnesses. Love the cozy mysteries and titles with puns in them.
I'm a pretty quick reader. And a stay-at-home mom to 6 girls. I homeschool them, and that is the biggest demand on my time. They are all readers, too.

That's great! I'm trying to convince my sister into developing a reading habit but the discouraging attitude of my mother isn't helping at all.
