Reading the Detectives discussion

Hi and welcome to our friendly group of readers. We read mainly Golden Age detective stories and have a poll each month to choose a group read. We also have a challenge under way throughout 2025 and 2026, Christie's Detectives: Poirot vs Marple, where we are reading and discussing the first 12 Poirot books and the 12 Miss Marple books.

If you have just joined us, do post in our introductions thread to let us know a bit about yourself and who your favourite authors are. All introductions should be posted in the main thread, please.

We now have 2 threads for each group book, a general thread and a spoiler thread. All group read threads will stay open, so it is never too late to join in and have your say on a book.

If you are an author, please don't promote your books in the general threads. There is a separate self-promotion section, so please just post in this area - any self-promotion posts in other areas will be moved.
