Bekki Leber (primaimperatrix) I am confused about the rules of the contests. I have been looking into the contest rules so I may be ready to submit in future contests. I read these two conflicting statements, and I need some clarification.

From the Contest's Page under "How does the contest work?":

First it says "Any writer can launch a project on Inkshares anytime". But, few lines later it then states, "Only projects that launched after February 1, 2016 are eligible."

So then, I have two drafts posted on Inkshares, but I am not ready to start selling pre-orders any time soon. If a contest for genres of either of my books comes along later, does having a draft posted on Inkshares disqualify me? Is a draft considered a "project launched"? Or, does "launched" just mean for projects that are selling pre-orders? I would like clarification, otherwise I may not be eligible for contests in the future.

Michael Sebby | 37 comments Launch means when you officially open your project for pre-orders. So, for example, I had a draft of my novel posted back in September. When the Sword & Laser contest popped up on December 1st, I launched my campaign the next day, automatically qualifying my book as an entry. So if you want to qualify for future contests, you can wait and launch then.

You're in the clear. :)

Bekki Leber (primaimperatrix) Perfect. I was hoping that drafts did not count because I wanted to try to build a base before I might launch in a contest. Thank you, Michael!
