amg Welcome to the eighth part of our re-read of The Witch's Daughter! On this thread, you can discuss the book up to Chapter 6. Please be considerate and don't jump ahead -- we don't want to spoil anything for the first-time readers among us!

To kick off the discussion, here are five questions for you to answer in the comments section below.

Discussion Questions:
1. What do you think of Elise's life as a WWI nurse?
2. Did Elise do the right thing for Corporal Davies?
3. Do you agree with the decision to send Elise to the field hospital at the front?
4. Were you surprised by the conditions at the front?
5. Are you wary of Archie, or do you believe he is who he says he is?

Magiccats 1. A nurse seemed the perfect occupation for Elise and her healing abilities.
2. I feel that she did do the right thing for Corporal Davies. Our country is currently in the middle of a debate about Dying with Dignity. The Supreme Court wants the provinces to enact it however a lot of interest groups and doctors are stubbornly stalling the legislation.
3. I didn't really have an opinion on whether she should be sent to the field hospital or not. It does lead into further conflict.
4. Conditions at the front were deplorable and well described. It is rather haunting to think of the brave men who were fighting and what they had to put up with as well.
5. I thought Archie was who he said he was. Elise didn't get a feeling that he was Gideon. At that point I was trusting her judgment.
