Pat Conroy sure hit me when I heard the news last night on my way to a book reading. We read from the heart and dedicated the night to him.

I'm glad they are finally back together.

I do.
Her most famous roll. I remember her in the Miracle Worker. I also remember her being on some game shows in the 70's. I dont remember her in anything else.
I remember reading Patty Duke's memoir a few years ago. I would recommend it.I think she wrote two, she battled manic depression, (bipolar disorder as its know today) I think she recovered and lived to tell the tale, she didn't in the end succumb to it.
Jimmie Van Zant died April 7. He is a cousin to the Van Zants of 38 Special and Lynnerd Skinnerd and grew up with them. I dont think he ever made it big but I saw him in concert twice and he did some of their songs and some of his own.
My dear Scrod. I heard this morning that today is Iggy Pop's 69th birthday, and I was terrified that he wouldn't make it any farther that David Bowie, who only made it 2 days past his 69th. Then I heard Prince died this morning during a bout of what seemed to be the flu, and they all made a point of mentioning that he's only a few years older than I am, almost 10 years younger than Iggy.

Shocking! They sure are making a big deal about him on TV today. They even interrupted Jeopardy! How could they do that!!!!

April 18--- Actress Doris RobertsI enjoyed her on "Everybody Loves Raymond". I had no idea she was 90. Did not act or look it.

The completion of Prince's autopsy was, unbelievably, announced on NPR as I was driving over here today. As if a gaudy, tinpot thing like stage charisma ever interested those guys before in history. They are waiting for all the test results to come back before they say anything definite, but hastened to mention that there were no signs of violence, and absolutely no indication of suicide. You'd think he was the president or something!
Michelle McNamara---crime writer and wife of comedian and actor Patton Oswalt. She founded the website True Crime Diary. She was 46 and left behind a seven year old daughter.
I guess she died in her sleep. Sad just very sad to hear.

I do not know her or her husband. Her blog must be fairly well known.

Well, it seems he has been getting as much attention as Michael Jackson or even the King (Elvis). Perhaps, his death is more important to these show biz folks.

I was thinking the same thing and here in Minnesota we are getting it even more as that is Prince's home state. My sister-in-law used to live close to Graffiti Bridge. I saw it once and shortly after that they tore it down. She lives in Eden Prairie which is where Prince lives. Apparently she showed his mansion to some other family members. Now I'm disappointed she never showed it to me. Maybe next time I'm there. I live 3 hours away from her so dont get there very often.

I think Merle Haggard should have been given as much attention as Prince. To me he's better. Just saying.
