I would read
Devil in the White City took too much energy to get through...which saddened me because I had been wanting to read it for years. I hope the movie is better. I hope they do it like World War Z...nothing like the book LOL

Sounds good! Should we wait for the other Julie to chime in? In case she wants to read something else?
I can tell you, it is not all about HH Holmes, and when it does talk about Holmes, it is not much about his murders, just his life.

A little late to the table as usual, but I'm good with whatever you ladies choose!! I'll check out All the Bright Places right along with you!! Have a great week :)
The description sounds a bit like "A Man Called Ove"....where he's always trying to find ways to die, but keeps finding necessary good deeds that are more important! Can't wait to start it.
I think this choice sounds great! I'll try harder to chime in at the end of the month, for April!! :)
Absolutely!! I have to get used to checking these message boards. I'm afraid I'm not very good at finding all the new posts. I am next in line on the library wait list, so I'm all set!!
Well, I gave up on The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America......but I picked up All the Bright Places and just couldn't put it down! Loved this one! Can't wait to see what you guys thought of it! :)
I might go back later to read it, but I just had too many others to read & it was hard to fit into my challenges. I was going to read it for my in person book club meeting this month, but I can't make it to the meeting so I decided to pass on it for now.....
(SPOILER ALERT) I have finished "All The Bright Places." What a beautiful, tender, and sad story. I expected teenage angst, I was pleasantly surprised by how truly real this story is. I work at a public school, and have lost students to car accidents, and to suicide. I have seen the sadness and emptiness in the eyes of the friends and siblings left behind. I cried as I finished this book, and felt the shortness of breath that Violet felt as she finished up their wanderings.
Awww I read some this morning, I plan on doing some reading tomorrow lounging on the couch!! And this weekend :) I am really enjoying it so far!!
Sure! I'm at the beach til tomorrow and don't get great reception here. I'm reading a book in April for my real life book club that you might like.....The Golem and the Jinni
I tried reading that a while ago....I couldn't get past the first few chapters :( HOw are you enjoying it?
Hope you enjoy the beach!! What else you bring to read with you at the beach? I miss that :(

I actually haven't started it yet, but I will in the next few weeks.I finished up The Little Giant of Aberdeen County yesterday (only 3 stars), and I've started on Missing Pieces by Heather Gudenkauff. It's really good so far!
I am almost finished with Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys!! Really good...probably going to be 4-5 stars. Haven't decided yet...still got some more to go :)
