I was really hoping the death was all a hoax, that the parents staged it to teach the kids a lesson, then would reveal at the end that they were actually alive

I thought it was the narrator.
I honestly didn't know what to think. Part of me though that one of the kids had did it, but the other part of me thought they really had killed themselves.
from the very beginning i thought it was hugo. the most unlikely character in my opinion is the most suspicous. but i allready read the books and i know what happens so i wont say anything.
oh wait everyone allready knows. im sorry i didnt read the comments.
