Clans with names that are related to water are situated near the sea and know their way with water. Forest clans know nothing of the sea and make a living in the forest, and vice versa.
There is one Mage per clan. And one clan leader, or two, depending if they are married.
Weapons Stay classic. No pistols, cannons, gunpowder, explosives... Stone and wooden weapons. There were no swords or metal objects. All stone and wood. Knives were made of slate.
[Far North Clans] Ptarmigan Clan White Fox Clan Narwhal Clan
[Mountain Clans] Rowan Clan Mountain Hare Clan Swan Clan
[Deep Forest Clans] Auroch Clan Lynx Clan Bat Clan Forest Horse Clan Red Deer Clan
[CLAN TATTOOS] Depending on which clan your character is in, you have a different clan tattoo so people can recognise what your clan is. Sometimes it can be a bad thing, other times good, but the tattoos are like a kind of shared thumbprint within the clan. Here they are:
Bat Clan - thorny black tattoo on the chin.
Forest Horse Clan - whole face tattooed with leaves; holly for men and oak for women.
Mountain Hare Clan - red zigzag band across the forehead.
Otter Clan - wavy blue-green lines undulating up the throat.
Raven Clan - three fine blue bars on each cheek.
Red Deer Clan - black cloven hoof tattoo on the forehead.
Salmon Clan - a sinuous tattoo on the cheek.
Sea Eagle Clan - black four-clawed mark on the back of the left hand.
Seal Clan - wavy blue lines on the arms for men and the calves for women.
Swan Clan - Circle of red dots on the forehead.
White Fox Clan - dark band across the bridge of the nose.
Willow Clan - three black circles tattooed between the eyebrows.
Wolf Clan - blue dotted lines on the cheekbones. (rare)
[OTHER TATTOOS]
Moon Bleed (Period) - small red bar under the clan tattoo.
Outcast - small black circle on forehead.
Power Lines (protect Mages against evil) - lightning mark on each wrist.
Soul Eater (evil people) - black three-pronged fork on the breastbone.
