Christopher Bradshaw | 1 comments Hello all. One of the things I noticed from listening to various advocates of TZM and TVP is that many people seem to have a difficult time imagining how such a system as the RBE would actually look in the play-out world, since the paradigm is so vastly different from the one we all know and love *cough cough*. I had been writing a pretty generic sci-fantasy novel at the time I got turned onto TZM, and I was so moved by the entire thing that I revised almost the entire premise of my story/series, revamping the society the main character comes from to reflect many elements of the RBE model. At least, I hope I succeeded in doing so. I did this almost wholly based on that quote in Addendum (or it might have been Moving Forward) about art having an obligation to show the state of the world, but also to help change it. Most fiction out there right now is comprised of little more than Zombie slaying and chick-warriors who turn into wolves and such, or teenie-bopper Hunger Games material, so I figured I might as well contribute something which is hopefully entertaining, but also with something pertinent to say, without being preachy. I certainly have no problem with or grudge against the successes of Hunger Games or Game of Thrones, but I do worry that the balance is way skewed in terms of the amount of such material the general populace absorbs, as opposed to anything actually relevant. Much media and entertainment should be just that, I suppose, just entertainment, but if the principles of TZM are to ever gain actual weight and pull, I feel that expressions of them in various media -books, music, movies, and so on- would be a great place to start. So here's my current contribution to that effort, in addition to my very down to earth and practical conversations held and ideas expressed in my personal life and via social media. The story isn't ONLY about TZM principles, being fantasy themed, but the backdrop is there for those who know what to look for, and the fact that the hero moves through the world guided by such principles will be the key factor in his ultimately doing his save the world thing. :)
