Just finished And the Birds Rained Down by Jocelyn Saucier. She is originally from NB although lives in PQ now. What a contemplative book! i just wish it had not ended so soon. https://ayearofbooksblog.com/2016/05/...

Diane (Tvor) | 357 comments I read And The Birds Rained Down recently for the bingo challenge. It was a beautiful book and it was a spellbinding read!

Emmkay | 252 comments Anything by David Adams Richards. The only one I've read so far is Mercy Among the Children.

I can only read his books once every few years, lol, they are too depressing. Mind you I've only read three and Mercy was my favorite.

Emmkay | 252 comments Ha, @Louise - no kidding, he is definitely not an author you can binge read!

I need some more ideas for my NB Cross Canada challenge... I have read both And the Birds Rained Down (LOVED it) and Mercy Among the Children as mentioned above and looking for other author options...

Diane (Tvor) | 357 comments I've just read The Town That Drowned by Riel Nason which I really enjoyed. It's 'coming of age' type of thing but quite good.

Diane (Tvor) | 357 comments Here's a few more NB reads I found today while searching for this category
The Nine Lives of Charlotte Taylor by Sally Armstrong
All the Things We Leave Behind by Riel Nason
The Ballad of Jacob Peck by Debra Komar (true crime)
The Hatbox Letters by Beth Powning

Allison ༻hikes the bookwoods༺ (allisonhikesthebookwoods) | 1783 comments I'm planning to read Measha Brueggergosman's book, Something Is Always On Fire: My Life So Far, for New Brunswick. She is from Fredericton I think. She has a beautiful voice, not just for singing, so I'm hoping there will be an audiobook forthcoming with her narrating.
