I will start in our smallest province with the most famous PEI author who I love - L. M. Montgomery. I have been rereading her Anne of Green Gables Series over the last year and have been enjoying her beautiful novels. I wish that my daughter would show an interest but maybe as she gets older she will appreciate them:

Emmkay | 252 comments I've got another one! I read and enjoyed Tide Road by Valerie Compton a couple of years ago.

Louise | 1171 comments I've been thinking about what book I can read for PEI in the Cross Canada Challenge and I stumbled across The Troop by Nick Cutter (aka Craig Davidson) He's not from PEI but the book is set there so I'm assuming we can use it for this category? I'm not usually much of a horror fan but I'm thinking about giving this one a go. Has anyone else read it?

Wanda | 767 comments @Louise- I read The Troop several years ago and it creeped me out memorably...I enjoy his books but they shouldn't be read on a weak stomach!

I read it last year for PEI -- a little bizarre but not too horror like others of his.

My library has it in audio. Might be a good one for a late night drive, lol.

Wanda | 767 comments @Louise, I recall the book having various methods for sharing the story including news articles etc. The audio book may not capture this as well. I felt it added to my reading enjoyment but I also like that style of "changing it up a bit". Keeps me interested.

@Louise - yes, this will fit as it is either set in PEI or written by an author from PEI. :)

Colleen | 74 comments Craig's writing accesses all of the senses, and his horror most definitely so. So be prepared to be a bit squeamish at times! I always have to remind myself after reading his Cutter novels that Craig is a lovely and well adjusted fella because he definitely pushes the boundaries. Enjoy!!

Diane (Tvor) | 357 comments Here's a short story collection called Riptides: New Island Fiction by Richard Lemm, all the stories are connected to PEI in some way either by the story or the author.
