Thanks for posting this, Ekel; I have a deviantart account and had never come across any of these artists or their work. Lots of interesting stuff here.
The art of Stephen Gammell is truly terrifying. Ever read those "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" books as a kid? I'll never be the same...http://www.scaryforkids.com/stories-t...

Agreed, the art work and stories themselves are truly terrifying.
Horror art centered around alien monsters, tentacles, carnivorous slime and two fetishes many people would consider to be very kinky and controversial:

Be warned, but I honestly think this also works on the level of dark art.

Brilliant!
I've actually thought about creating some horrifying art. I mean I'm no painter but I thought I'd take a stab at it ;)
I recently uploaded some snapshots of my Second Life avatar posing with a plush penis to DeviantArt. I was quite surprised to get a submission request from a group called "Genital-Monsters".

I think my own innocent fun shots are a bit out of place there, but the motto of the group is "H. R. Giger would be proud" and that boast is actually true for quite a lot of the art featured there:

Totally forgot about creating horror art but now that I've come back to this thread I might try to. I'll look into The Night Gallery for inspiration.
Some tattoos can have amazing realist horrific images, for example ripped muscle and tendons, sculls, monsters etc.

back in 2000 I went to a Metal music festival called Tattoo the Earth, so it also had tattoo artists with booths. One of them had an 8x10 of a tattoo they had done that looked like the persons head had been cut off & sewn back on. It looked so real!

Thank you for the link to this site!

One artist I would like to recommend is Pete Hamilton from the United Kingdom:

You could describe his style as "gigeresque surrealism".
Another one is Brian Smith from the United States, whose works tend to be a bit more colourful:

King Ov Rats is a metalhead from Poland. He mainly uses a pencil in creating his works, which consist to a huge part of illustrations of Lovecraft's fiction:

Which horror artists would you like to recommend and introduce here? The more obscure the better :-).
