Well, isn't it nice how that worked out for everyone (despite some of Emma's best intentions)!

I thoroughly enjoyed this but think it pales in comparison to Pride and Prejudice - whether the other holds more merit, or simply because it was my introduction to Austen, I guess I'll never know.

Jamie, I agree with you. I'm not sure why I like Pride and Prejudice so much more, but I do. I think it is at least partly because I like Elizabeth Bennett so much more than Emma. I've never understood the enthusiasm some people have for the character, Emma. I've known two women who named their daughters "Emma," after this character. I just don't find the character that likeable.
