Emma Jaye | 3693 comments This is a special celebratory, genre specific group. In joining this group you have agreed TO REVIEW ANY ALLOCATED BOOK within the set 12 week limit.
Genre: Historical and/or mystery
Historical fiction is a genre in which the plot takes place in a setting located in the past. An essential element of historical fiction is that it is set in the past and pays attention to the manners, social conditions and other details of the period depicted.
Mystery fiction usually involves a mysterious death or a crime to be solved. In a closed circle of suspects, each suspect must have a credible motive and a reasonable opportunity for committing the crime. The central character must be an investigator who eventually solves the mystery by logical deduction from facts fairly presented to the reader.

Allocation is entirely random and there will NOT be any rearranging of the listing to accommodate preferences. The ONLY circumstance in which you may duck out of giving a review is if YOU provide a stand-in reviewer.

Let’s be honest here – even within the same genre, we don’t all like the same things but we all want reviews. The only way this group can function is if we trust each other to behave honourably. And it IS perfectly possible to give a fair-minded review of a text that does not coincide with our normal choice of reading matter. If you need a few hints/tips, please see this thread:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Make sure you have an author profile set up before you join and that your book is available for sale on amazon (not pre-0rder).

Please let me know as you sign up if you have been reviewed by, or have reviewed another author in the group. It is permissible to review an author more than once if a different book is available, but reciprocal reviews within the group are strictly prohibited.

Your group moderator will be
Chance Maree

P.J. McDermott (goodreadscomjacobcarlisle) | 78 comments Hi Emma,I'd like to submit Small Fish Big Fish for review by this group. (I've already submitted another book in the Sci-fi group. Hope you will allow me to participate in both). Can't see any conflicts - Kayne has reviewed Avanaux but not SFBF.

Emma Jaye | 3693 comments I think you'd be better off in Scifi Stephanie, the historical round is about real history not steampunk/alternate.

Stephanie R. Sorensen (stephanier_sorensen) | 29 comments Done, I'm there now. Thank you, Emma!

message 11: by Jane (new)

Jane Blythe I would love to add my book to the group, it's kind of a mix of mystery/crime/suspense with some romance, I think this is the best group for it but am happy to change to another group if you think that would be better.

So far my book doesn't have any reviews, but two on the way, so I am looking forward to reading some thoughts on it!

It is book one in a series, so far the only one published

One

Thanks

Please remember the commitment you are making to your fellow group members. If you pull out after the start date for any reason it is the other members who will be faced with the problem of finding a replacement, or missing out on reviews, through no fault of their own. Please don’t ask the moderators to chase after replacements as we just don’t have the time.

It is the responsibility of the author to get their book to their reviewer in a format the reviewer can manage. Everyone must be able to accept PDF. There are no set dates for the start of each round. You can each work at your own pace, within the limits of the round deadlines.

When you have posted your reviews, please post the three links to your reviews in this thread.

All reviews must be posted to GR, Amazon .com and Amazon.co.uk.

Postings to any other sites are by agreement by both author and reviewer.

If I’ve missed something that results in you being asked to review someone who has already reviewed you, please let me know asap.

To exchange book files, my advice is to use PM to give email addresses to each other (save the chance of spammers getting your addies from this open forum). Happy reviewing, everyone :)

I'll hang about till Chance takes over, before I scuttle off to set up another group.

T. Blake Braddy -- Your profile does not allow anyone to contact you. Please message the authors you are to review, and those who are to review you. All the contacts are your responsibility since your profile prohibits contact by GR members. If you don't know how to message anyone, then post your need for help here in this discussion group and I'll show you how.

Everyone else: Has anyone had contact with T. ? If not, then proceed without him until we work this out.

Thanks,

Not sure what's up with amazon uk its taking a while to post my review and it is time for me to head to bed (9:45 pm here in Melbourne) so I will post that link when the review is up

Thanks, Jane. Emma thinks T. might be on a holiday. So, we wait.

The FAQ list for this group only addresses those who would miss getting a review if T. doesn't show up. It says:

"13. WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM MISSING A REVIEW AFTER THE GROUP FINISHES?

Firstly check with your reviewer and your mod to see if there is merely a delay. if your reviewer is genuinely AWOL, you can place your book on the new 'One by one' review thread without having to review another author's book first. However, there is no guarantee anyone will pick your book to review. "

The law by omission, I suppose, this means you are off the hook for that 4th review.
