I picked up several Mary Stewart books recently and was wondering if anyone wants to read one together? These are the ones I have...
Madam, Will You Talk?
The Ivy Tree
Airs Above the Ground
Nine Coaches Waiting
This Rough Magic

Which ever one most of us have we can read!

Julie | 37 comments i have a bunch of other books i'm in the middle of. but i have read all of these in the past and some more than once. they were good when i listened to them back when there were books on tape too! i liked her merlin series too. wow, i've not reread those in years and years. i read the one that took place on skye, when i got back from there in 2007. 'wildfire at midnight'. and 'touch not the cat' was a really good one too. : )

I read Wild Fire at Midnight last year, Julie. Enjoyed it. My first book by her was Rose Cottage. When are you leaving for Scotland? I'm trying to decide if I am am going in August or September.

Julie | 37 comments We'll be going when school lets out, as our daughter's a teacher. We're going to stay part of the time, in a black house in the black house village on the isle of Lewis! I'm so excited!

Julie | 37 comments I've heard a uk holiday can be crowded in August, as that is when their schools are out for summer break. But I'm sure it depends on the area.

That's so exciting! If I wait for Sept. I think Bloody Scotland would be on too.

message 7: by Julie (new)

Julie | 37 comments we were last there, only for 5 days out of our trip, in 2007, and we were warned that we would be surprised at how crowded the isle of skye will be this time. i was surprised at how difficult it was finding reservations all over scotland a month or two ago, when we began trying to book for our trip. but i would think early fall might be the really perfect time to go. but our daughter can't do fall, because of teaching : )

Beth Mast | 37 comments I don't have any Mary Stewart books, so I'm game whenever! Just give me enough notice on which book so I can order it. :)

message 9: by Julie (new)

Julie | 37 comments library might have them. i'm pretty sure our library has kept her books (even though they have gotten rid of so many older ones to make way for new - always makes me sad)

Which one do you want to read first?

message 13: by Kate (new)

Kate | 32 comments I don't have a preference -- you choose.

message 14: by Beth (new)

Beth Mast | 37 comments I don't have a library card. I would have to pay about $120 to get one. I would rather have the books in hand if I have to spend the money. But then I think, I wouldn't have the stress of buying books. :).

I still can't get over you have to pay for a library card! If your like me all the books I want are usually not at my library anyway.

Katrina is going to join us in the read-a-long. How about Airs Above the Ground and just go ahead and read it when you finish whatever your reading now? We can do the other one later too if you want.

I have found my copy of This Rough Magic but not Airs Above the Ground. I'm wondering if I have it. Did you see it in my house Peggy? I can easily get another copy though I'm sure.

No, I didn't see it. I thought you had it. Do you have Madam can we talk? Those two are the two, Beth has.

Kate, I got confused on those threads! Sorry! When ever you want to start, just holler. We can start with Airs Above the Ground if thats okay with you. Katrina doesn't have that one. I'm almost done with Open Wounds, but I can set aside any book or read two at once.

Kate | 32 comments Thanks Peggy! I was just wondering if I'd missed the decision (I've been swamped lately!) Airs Above the Ground is fine with me -- I'll start today.

Great Kate! I'll set up a discussion folder for the book. You never know someone else might join us.
