I am not sure what times I will have available as I have signed up for several of Aurielle's panels and don't know which ones she will have me on, or what time. She has gaps from 8-9 central every day, so I could definitely do that time. Let me know!

Re: the blab interview: I'll post a schedule soon!
If you haven't checked out the Blab.im platform, please do! Once you see it, and particitpate in one (even a little as a lurker), you'll have a good feel for how things work. It's in BETA and can be have a few glitches, so be ready to go at least 10 minutes before you're time slot. You'll need:
earbuds
computer mic
a quiet, nicely lit spot
If you have a headset, that works well, too. You also can use your external mic/earbuds combo if you're a podcaster.
Once inside the "studio," I'll be recording our interview, but depending on how things are scheduled, I might not be recording when you enter. I also can pause the recording if something strange/unexpected happens. Be flexible and have fun!
I'll upload the videos to the Back Porch Writer YouTube channel, so you can grab the link from there. If you want audio-only, get in touch. If I recall correctly, Blab sends me both.
For those who are curious about questions I might ask, please visit http://www.backporchwriter.com. You'll be able to listen to past episodes from the blog page.
Generally, I let the conversation flow organically and am easy-going. I'll ask about you, your writing and marketing, books you've published -- that sort of thing. If you have a few tips ready to share, that would be awesome! (Things that are working for you in the areas of: productivity, marketing, advertising, and sales.

You will need:
Earbuds (Critical to avoid nasty feedback)
Your computer's mic

Things to remember:
1. Arrive in the Blab at least 10 minutes before your interview so that you can test your equipment, settle in, and lurk. This will help calm your nerves.
2. Set up in a quiet spot
3. You need a Twitter account to join the Blab. This is how you sign into the platform.
4. Recording can be paused.
5. When I see that you're in the room, I'll invite you to join me. This sends a notification to my screen, and I bring you in.
6. Anyone watching can participate in the live chat. They can ask a questions using /q. If someone wants to ask you a question directly, then they can ask to be seated at the table.
7. The host invites, boots people out, records, pauses recording, lock seats, and can make other people a host.
8. You can tweet and send messages to FB during the interview.
9. You'll be able to see the chat as it's happening, so try not to let it distract you.
10. If you're answering a question, be sure to say who asked the question (Important b/c it's getting recorded. The recording doesn't include the chat room.)

For those who are on the fence about having an interview (or are nervous), here are some...INTERVIEW TIPS
1. Be ready to tell people a few sentences about yourself. You don't need to make this overly personal. Think of it like what you might include in a job interview.
2. Be ready to talk about your books. Tell us just enough to make us want to buy them.
3. Be ready to talk about your writing process.
4. I like to ask authors about their marketing. What's working? What's not working?
5. I also like to ask: What tips do you have for other authors about marketing and advertising?
6. Think about this: What type of reader would enjoy your book(s)?
7. Think about this: Why did you decide to become an author? Is it your fulltime gig? Why/why not?
8. Think about this: Why indie?
9. If your books need review love, then I'll probably say something about that, so you don't need to bring it up.
10. Relax. Have a bottle of water handy, but off screen.
11. Don't rehearse too much. My interview style is relaxed, and I tend to go where your answers take me.
12. If questions come up about bad reviews, be ready to answer this positively and with humor. Other authors seem to ask about this in a lot of forums and FB groups. Give a tip or trick for how you deal with them.
13. Be ready to tell everyone where they can find your books. If you have a website, mention it, and put it into the chat area.
14. If you have a promo, giveaway, or anything else going on, be sure to mention it.
15. HAVE FUN! (This probably should have been #1.)

Great! You'll need, at minimum, earbuds. When people don't wear them, we can experience nasty feedback echoes. Sometimes it doesn't happen, but it's better to simply start this way.

Kori! Can I sneak a time in to do a "host appearance" to discuss the convention overall?
I am wanting to do this on the 9th. I think taking an evening in the middle of this would be awesome...
If we can link this in to Joe's time (so long as he isn't promoting his books as I don't want to take that away from him) we could come on as a trio of... whatever it is we are and discuss everything happening.
I am wanting a time around 6:00 PM CST (7:00 PM EST... I think...). Not sure if you want 30 minutes to talk or more (or less) than that.
Which time would work best for you evening of the 9th?

I love Blab.im as a platform and already co-host another show on it. I'm happy to arrange a series of time slots for live author interviews. The interviews would be 15 or possibly 30 minutes (because I'm still brainstorming this.) These are video and audio, so no PJs and bunny slippers (unless that's part of your author persona!) You'll need, at minimum, ear buds.
Here's what I need from you:
Indicate your interest in the comments and please include your email, day, and time (in CDT) that works for you during the CON. No times will be before 9 a.m. CDT on any of the days and all interviews will conclude by 10 p.m. CDT.
The final videos will be on the Back Porch Writer YouTube page. From there, you can grab the link to share it with your audience. Blab also sends me a direct link.
