Detective Julia Racine...incompetent or coping the best she knows how? Any sympathy for her?

Julia's okay. She's very prickly, which I usually like in a character but somehow it rubs me the wrong way. Perhaps it is because there is room for only one prickly character and that spot is occupied by Maggie herself.

I think she objectified herself prior to becoming a detective. She's got some work to do and I felt sorry for her, in a way. I liked that Maggie thawed and tried to help her.

You can't be one of the boys and sleep with them, too.
