We do a lot of unschooling in our eclectic mix. I have a large library of learning books and dvd's, both fiction and non-fiction. This helps. We have legos, bikes, a garden, a yard, balls, art supplies and more. All of it is good stuff. Just add to your collection when you can.

The library is a major part of our homeschool. I fill a bag with all kinds of interesting nonfiction and fiction . We go a lot. We all love to read (4 in our family ):-)
We are a mix of Charlotte Mason, Montessori, unit studies, Waldorf, etc. inspired but very child-led. Our oldest two have graduated and our son Jack graduates this year. We were more traditional in the early years but even then we were never school-at-home types and always have been DIY instead of relying on curricula or worksheets or anything.
Any books or advice in general, anyone can recommend would be gratefully appreciated. My son is preschool age but i'm trying to connect with other homeschoolers and groups to get an idea of whats out there.
I am more eclectic. In general, if we are delving into a topic sans curriculum we will just hit the library (actually nowadays I go to the library's website) and see what they have available. I also look for free unit study outlines or lapbooks online. Also doing a search for "topic- online interactives" usually brings up fun online resources. Also, I like to look for related field trips in our area. (Or I did when I had littles, I am mostly down to one teen now and he isn't too keen about
exploring with mom any more.)
