Steph (angel4492) | 32742 comments Hiya, Team Caps! Thanks for volunteering to guide your team through a round of BookShelf Bingo!

Your job, should you choose to accept it, will require a few things:
1 ~ Be our go-to person should we have any questions about your team
2 ~ Organize your teammate's weekly reads for each shelf/category so that the BSB Ninjas can quickly and easily verify and approve your stamp request(s)
3 ~ Encourage and motivate your team (you may also ask to borrow Judithe's whip whenever necessary)
4 ~ Post regularly to ensure your team is communicating and on track each week (Send them a PM and friendly poke if they haven't posted at least once a week, noted their book choice, and/or appear to have dropped out of webspace)
5 ~ Send us a PM (Steph, Sandra or Judithe) should you need us for any reason throughout the game

~Melissa~ | 1616 comments Hi teamies - so excited for this round of Bingo to start!! Just an FYI - I will be traveling starting this Friday until next Friday for Spring Break with my family. We've never had a problem getting wifi somewhere along the way for our trips so shouldn't be a problem.

I don't wish to be team captain due to commitments at work this Spring.

I live in Illinois - work full time in the healthcare field. Hubby and I have two teenagers - son and daughter. Hoping the daughter (just 14) mellows a bit as she gets older - yowza - she's a pistol. Son is pretty easy going - hubby and I kinda shake our head when he's in a mood since it's so rare. I can't go to sleep unless I read at least twenty minutes of whatever book I'm into - usually it's longer than twenty minutes :)

D.G. | 2752 comments Hi Team! I'm married (no kids) and live in NYC. I read all sorts of things and I'm a Bingo veteran.

I'd prefer not to be the captain this time (I'm really busy at work) but can do it if nobody else can.

Re-team names...can't think of anything good right now. Probably can post something tomorrow.

message 8: by Rachel-RN (new)

Rachel-RN (rachelgoodbyeborders) | 1368 comments Hi my follow teammates!
I'm in Boise, Idaho (mountain time). Looking forward to this round of bingo!
I've played in every single round of SOS Bookshelf Bingo, so you could say I'm a veteran. I've been captain before, so can do that if no one wants too, but would prefer to let someone else do it since I was captain last round.
Will have to think about team names.
Friend requests also sent out if I wasn't already friends with you:-)

Anita Reads | 595 comments Hi Teammates.

Can't wait for this round to start. The only one I've teamed up with before is Melissa I think :)

Anyway, I'm 29, from Denmark. Currently single. No kids or anything. I've only played Bingo the last 2 rounds, but it's been so much fun each time. I'm currently unemployed, which really sucks! I read a lot of different genres, but my go to genre is Urban Fantasy.
I have time to be team captain, but I've never been before though.

As for team names I don't know. Not really very creative. The only thing I've thought of was
Fearless Fourteen, but I think that's pretty common. I'll try and think of something else.

D.G. | 2752 comments So sad to learn the news about Brussels - I was there a couple of years ago. :(

There's probably going to be a lot of security around work today (my office is located close to the new WTC.)

message 11: by D.G. (new)

D.G. | 2752 comments Re-team names. Not great suggestions but here are some...I need to think of more:
- One-for-All (1-4-All)
- 14 moons (pun for anybody who read Beautiful Creatures! hahaha)
- Mean Fourteen (could be queen, lean...anything that rhymes with teen)

Not number related names:
- Marvelous Rebels
- Furious Attackers

message 12: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25913 comments D.G. just checked out the news on Brussels following your comment. It was just terrible. Stay safe near the WTC.

message 13: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ | 1616 comments I saw the news when I got to work this morning - so sad what happened.

message 14: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 595 comments I just saw in the news as well. What's happening to this world? I really don't understand. I wonder if it will ever stop with these attacks? They're also getting a lot more frequent.

I've never been to Brussels, but my brother was there a few years ago, and also have plans to go there this summer.

Great name suggestions D.G. :)

message 15: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ | 1616 comments hmmmm names - so not creative but I'll try to think of some

Non number related:
Well Read Ladies (Girls/Gals/Chicks)
UF Readers (if we all read/like Urban Fantasy)

message 16: by ~Melissa~ (last edited Mar 22, 2016 07:28AM) (new)

~Melissa~ | 1616 comments *waves* Hi Anita - somehow in my non coffee'd brain this morning I missed your intro post :) I can not function without coffee, lol

message 17: by Rachel-RN (new)

Rachel-RN (rachelgoodbyeborders) | 1368 comments I like Well Read Chicks (or ladies)

message 18: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 595 comments I like Well Read Chicks as well.

Haha, Melissa that's OK :)

message 19: by Rachel-RN (new)

Rachel-RN (rachelgoodbyeborders) | 1368 comments Any takers for team captain? Anita- want to give it a try? Main thing is keeping track of shelves/books read and requesting stamps when it is time. I can help you if you would like to give it a go. If not, I'll do it...if that is okay with everyone else.

message 20: by Rachel-RN (last edited Mar 22, 2016 03:07PM) (new)

Rachel-RN (rachelgoodbyeborders) | 1368 comments For free space- from SOS bookshelf, I'm thinking about one of these (if I can, I would also like to work these in this round of bingo, cross fingers and hope they are on the right shelves!):
Hunter's Moon (A Tale of the Sazi, #1) by C.T. Adams or Aftermath (Sirantha Jax, #5) by Ann Aguirre or Destiny (Rogue Angel #1) by Alex Archer or Midnight Enchantment (Dark Magick, #4) by Anya Bast or Tangled Webs (The Black Jewels, #6) by Anne Bishop .
Leaning towards Midnight Enchantment since that finishes the series.

message 21: by Anita Reads (last edited Mar 22, 2016 03:29PM) (new)

Anita Reads | 595 comments I went through all the shelves, and found books possible for each shelf, but I hadn't considered the freespace book yet.
I'm thinking I'll go with one of these. They can all be found on one of the best off lists.

Summoning the Night (Arcadia Bell, #2) by Jenn Bennett For a Few Demons More (The Hollows, #5) by Kim Harrison All Together Dead (Sookie Stackhouse, #7) by Charlaine Harris

Not sure which I'll choose yet. Maybe you have a suggestion to which book I should choose?
Can't wait to see which shelf will be called tomorrow.

As for the captain one. I can give it a try, if everyone else is OK with it. I'll try and check in daily. I might be a little busy over Easter, since both my mother and sisters are having their birthdays, but I should have time to check in at least once a day nonetheless.

message 22: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ | 1616 comments For my free space - totally leaning towards Broken Soul (Jane Yellowrock, #8) by Faith Hunter I've been on a total Jane kick
Or I could easily do Marked in Flesh (The Others, #4) by Anne Bishop - Both of these off the Group bookshelf
Sweep in Peace (Innkeeper Chronicles, #2) by Ilona Andrews - was the Jan 2016 BOM

message 23: by D.G. (new)

D.G. | 2752 comments Well Read Chicks works for me as well! And I'm fine with Anita being the captain if she can take it on. It's really not difficult!

No clue what I'll read yet for Free Space...not sure what I'll be in mood to read once I'm done with this book I'm reading now.

message 24: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ | 1616 comments I'm good with Anita being captain ~ thanks for volunteering :)

I'm flattered you all like the name I came up with as I'm really horrible at coming up with names, lol

Sandra | 25913 comments Nichole, who is this one? He seems familiar.

message 28: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 1199 comments David Tennant. He played Dr. Who for a while.

message 29: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25913 comments I thought so but wasn't sure. Dr #10, one of my favourites :D

message 30: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 595 comments OK. Great. I see we changed the team name. Cool :)

message 31: by D.G. (new)

D.G. | 2752 comments I first saw Nichole's gif in the app - where it doesn't move - so I was wondering what it meant! hahahaha!

message 32: by D.G. (new)

D.G. | 2752 comments Team - I'm going out with a friend this evening so it's likely I won't check again until tomorrow morning. :)

message 33: by Anita Reads (last edited Mar 23, 2016 08:04AM) (new)

Anita Reads | 595 comments That's ok.

If I'm correct about the Time Zone converter, the shelf announcement will be around 0.30 AM for me, I'll try and stay up until then, otherwise I'll check in the morning and notify you of the shelf, unless someone else has already done it for me :)

Just for your information :)

Is the gif from a Dr Who episode or something else he was in? He is one of my kids and my favorites Dr's :D

message 35: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ | 1616 comments I will miss the shelf call tonight as it hits at 6:30 pm my time - we will be out to dinner and then at the school for my daughter. They have a extra-curricular fair tonight where you can meet and chat with students from all of the clubs at the high school for incoming freshman. (they have over 200 clubs - ummm yikes?!? Actually she should definitely be able to find something she would like to join, lol )

I will check in tomorrow morning to see what the shelf is and figure out what I will read.

Rachel-RN (rachelgoodbyeborders) | 1368 comments Shelf #1 ~ 23 Mar: Aliens
Aliens

message 37: by Rachel-RN (new)

Rachel-RN (rachelgoodbyeborders) | 1368 comments For the Free Space either Midnight Enchantment (Dark Magick, #4) by Anya Bast or Aftermath (Sirantha Jax, #5) by Ann Aguirre

For Aliens (thanks to the 1 person who shelved it under aliens):
Body Thief (The Body, #2) by C.J. Barry

message 38: by D.G. (new)

D.G. | 2752 comments Hmmm tough first shelf! I have tons of options...just need to decide on what I'll read.

I'll probably start on my Free Space. I started one book but I wasn't very sure after the first chapter...I'll read a few more and decide if I'll continue reading.

message 39: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ | 1616 comments So wasn't the shelf I wanted called :(

Well at least I have Claimed (Brides of the Kindred, #1) by Evangeline Anderson which is on the first page for Aliens

message 40: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 595 comments Thanks for announcing the shelf Rachel.

message 42: by Anita Reads (last edited Mar 24, 2016 12:05AM) (new)

Anita Reads | 595 comments I have several options. I'll have to think consider it.

Opal (Lux, #3) by Jennifer L. Armentrout The Infinite Sea (The 5th Wave, #2) by Rick Yancey Enslave Me Sweetly (Alien Huntress, #2) by Gena Showalter Unraveling (Unraveling, #1) by Elizabeth Norris

I actually really need a U book, so I might end up with that one.
Just for clearance. Is it enough to mention which page the book is on?

D.G. | 2752 comments Anita wrote: "Team 14 - Well Read Chicks: Week 1: Aliens

Hi Anita - Melissa is reading that book, not me. ;) I think I read it already at some point. :)

message 44: by ~Melissa~ (last edited Mar 24, 2016 05:04AM) (new)

~Melissa~ | 1616 comments Free Space - I started Broken Soul (Jane Yellowrock, #8) by Faith Hunter for another team challenge so I'll use it for this as well. This fits as it is on the Group Bookshelf

message 45: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 595 comments Sorry I guess i was still tired. I'll change it AS som AS I'm by my computer.

message 46: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 595 comments As soon as possible. Sorry autocorrect .

message 47: by D.G. (last edited Mar 24, 2016 07:36AM) (new)

D.G. | 2752 comments No worries...it's not as if I picked a book yet. I have a lot more books with aliens than I thought but I'm in another challenge so I'll decide what to read for that shelf tomorrow.

In another note, I DNFed the first book I picked for the Free Space. Not a good sign. O_O

message 48: by Anita Reads (last edited Mar 24, 2016 12:42PM) (new)

Anita Reads | 595 comments I changed the error now.

Also decided I'll try and go with Unraveling (Unraveling, #1) by Elizabeth Norris since it can work for multiple challenges. It's on page 4 of the Aliens list. I won't be starting it, until I've finished the books I'm currently working on.

I'm still not sure if I have to mention where it is on the list when collecting the stamps?

message 49: by D.G. (last edited Mar 24, 2016 02:33PM) (new)

D.G. | 2752 comments You don't have to, Anita. A lot of us check the shelves from the book page, not the shelf itself, which means that we don't know in what page the book is located on the actual shelf.

That probably didn't make any sense, LOL!

message 50: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 595 comments Ok. I just thought I saw something about it having to be on the Popular Alien's shelf, but it's on that list no matter how many times it's been tagged alien?
