Between the Covers discussion

This thread will be for those who are currently reading but have not finished the book. This means the conversations will primarily consist of asking questions, predicting, overall view of the writing and plot, etc. No spoilers!

I'm having a lot of trouble getting into this book, the writing is not what I am used to. Maybe it is just me, it just is very detailed. I feel like so far I have read a lot of useless details about the setup of the town, but I can't really picture any of it. Just too much background and not enough action. Maybe it's just because I am used to reading different types of books.

But I really really want to like it!
