Tbh I rly don't like Cal especially after reading King's Crown. He's really controlling and he just can't decide which side to be on! It's annoying and Mare is too good for him in my opinion.

I really don't like Cal but I kinda picture him as Gale from Hunger Games and then Gale reminds me of Thor (not because he's the actors brother).
I may be alone in this, but Cal gets on my nerves. I don't think he is for Mare. But then I kind of think Mare is kind of ridiculous. I mean, why is it bad for him to become king? He loves her so much (though I don't think Mare loves him, or at least I don't lov him), that he could change so much for the Reds being king! Maybe he does have a tendency to like power, but he could further the cause with Mare keeping him tethered to reality!
I wish Maven wasn't a terrible person.

I totally agree. If you have Read the Shatter Me series. I totally picture Maven as Aaron. And Aaron and Juliette are together!! :D Cal, idk. I hate him for some reason. I've always loved the little brother Maven. Cal should become King. He might change everything. But Mare and Maven, seem a better match to me. Cal and Mare never really connected in my opinion. Idk though...
Cal has got to be the most frustrating person in the book. I love him and then I hate him, it depends on what part of the book I'm currently reading. He'll do something so sweet and all I can think of is this adorable little brave Labrador puppy, and at other times he makes the worst possible decisions. I almost threw Glass Sword across the room over him, but I didn't because I loved the book too much.
Have you guys read what Victoria Aveyard posted on her insta? There is a quote from War Storm that is a dialogue between Cal and Mare. I almost died reading it. I seriously can’t wait.

OMG it is soooo sad! My eyes literally swelled up with tears as I read it! Mare stops calling Cal 'Cal' and starts calling him "Tiberius" because of what happened between them. It. Is. Heart wrenching!!!

For sure. She kept saying that Mare was self-righteous and stuck-up, but for real! Be a little understanding! Mare should have never forced her to come to the red guard, but Mare never stopped her from leaving. She only wanted to show Cameron how safe she could be. Anyway. Mare isn't perfect but neither is cameron. Or really anyone. Gisa and Kilorn are close 🙂
I wouldn't mind kilorn and Gisa together. I mean there's a bit of age difference but hey! Who knows. I think Cameron was pretty annoying too. But I mean under the circumstances I guess I'd be a brat to Mare if my brother was stuck on the front lines and I couldn't save him.

Kilorn should be with a new blood. Wasn’t there some cannon shipping with Ada. I like Ada a lot. Kilorn is already part of the Barrow tribe. He doesn’t need to marry into it.

Maybe Mare doesn't want to be with anyone? She already turned down Kilorn, then Maven and now Cal. Maybe she can be the Red Queen with no king, the queen of the newbloods. I don't know, it's hard to tell what she wants.
Whispers seem to genuinely just be commonly evil people. I know two characters don’t speak for the whole race but think about it. Their powers consist of complete control over someone if used properly, and can even traumatize people (such as Maven.) I don’t think there’s such thing as a good whisper. At least in this universe.

A lot of people thought Corianne did that. Idk if you guys have read Queen’s Song, but it does go into the good vs evil in silvers. Corianne is good natured and loves Cal and Tibe, but she does abuse her powers occasionally. It really is a matter of personal strength. As a silver mental strength and power is extremely important. You quickly see the weak silvers kneel to the powerful. That is their motto after all.
I am realizing now that I am doing a complete psycho analysis of silver court, but it is so interesting to see how children are raised. To them marriage isn’t about love, Cal says that. Evangeline is gay, but still has been groomed to be queen. She was probably conceived right after Cal’s birth announcement. Literally made for the purpose of being queen. The children have protocol and train together. The houses create rivalries from childhood by forcing these kids to compete against each other. Even within the houses there is extreme competition. As we can see in House Samos there are subgroups if power. When Volo creates the Kingdom of the Rift, he creates a whole new courts and hierarchy of only magnetrons. The difference between Ptolemus and say Lucas is exquisite. Ptolemus is strong and powerful. Trained since birth for inheriting the house. Ptolemus does not have time to be soft. I think Evangeline says something along the lines of “be like iron, iron doesn’t bend”. Maven is not the only one who has been cut into something else. He was just the only one who had it done by mind control instead of social pressures. Lucas on the other hand, is calm and gentility. He does not have the pressure of power and lives a simple life. Not a luxurious one, but a simple one. In our society many people have the opportunity to choose which life they want. The silvers can’t. Because of this it can be concluded that their lack of freedom. Freedom in exchange for “strength and power” has create the race of monsters the reds suffer under.

He was really such a sweetheart. His death really got to Mare. I’m surprised she doesn’t think about him more.
I hope he's mentioned in War Storm. He's too sweet to be forgotten

Yea Lucas was a good guy. I vouch we trade his death with Maven's life. Norta would be so much better in so many ways.
Cal is my child. Mare decided she was gonna leave him so Mare needs to die...slowly...and miserably.
Their relationship is so devastatingly logical and lurid. I love it.
