The Palace of the Cursed discussion

The backstory/history of Aiden and how the Cursed came to be.

In the world of Keras, in the country of Aiden, every year, a few children are born with the attributes of animals. They were originally called the Blessed children and were thought to be gifts from the gods, the chosen ones of the guardian animal spirits. They were supposed to be people that would one day bring about great change for the country and move the human race forward. They eventually went on to be world leaders, scientists, musicians etc. However, because the gods choose those they considered worthy, these children could be born anywhere to anyone. Some were born into rich families, whilst others were born into poor families that had trouble caring for their Blessed children. Due to this discrepancy in care, a boarding school was created from an old palace and all the Blessed were taken there to be cared for and educated. The parents of the Blessed (particularly those who's child attended the school) were instantly given lots of money and moved to the top social rank. However, because of this, jealousy began to brew in the hearts of others. Everyone wanted their child to be born Blessed, and if it didn't happen people said, "Is my child not special enough for the gods? Is my child not supposed to accomplish anything?' Jealously grew like a disease and the Blessed children started to be hated, to be called the Cursed. People asked if they actually knew the Blessed were gifts from the gods and not manipulators sent by the demons. Over the years, this thinking became more prominent and eventually, everyone forgot that the children were once called Blessed, and not Cursed. In the present age, everyone lives in fear that their child will be one of the Cursed. They believe these children are sent by the demons to wreak havoc in society and to punish bad parents. Luckily for these children however, people are afraid of the Cursed powers and what would happen if they killed a Cursed child. And so, the school that was once a haven for these children, has become their prison. The moment a Cursed child is born, the Snatchers - a police force, are called and the child is taken to the old palace, to live out their lives trapped within the confines of their prison.
