Yup! Looks good, qualifies, and is DRM-free if you don't have a Kindle. I just downloaded it while I was there :-) And the sweet thing is there are 5 books in that series.
Tarnished Knight (London Steampunk) by BecMacMaster is free. I think I read the first in the series - Kiss of Steel with Kindle Unlimited. I dont know if that counts...but it's an awesome series.
I recommend the Arkane Series by J. F. Penn. The first book is Stone of Fire and is permafree on Amazon.

My Familiar Stranger is permafree, I loved this entire series, and a new book comes out soon, Here is the link to Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Familiar-Strang...
Sounds good so far :-)
[*and hitting the 'download' button a lot while researching these so I can post the nominee covers*]
Here's some book cover bling 'cause it's pretty... Holler if I missed anybody's nomination.

Not sure if permafree nominations are still open, but these are free series starters that I've liked:
A lot of my Kindle books that I have read (past & present) have ALL BEEN FREE. All of the books that I have read were part of a series. One book I would like to recommend that is not part of a series is called The Doll by J.C. Martin. I have to look thru my collection for more good books.
@ Melissa - thanks for all those hot leads :-) I allow ONE nomination per person per month, so I'll go with the first one you listed (Aurora Sky) but maybe people will follow your hot tips and grab the other goodies :-)
@ leslie m. kitchens - it doesn't have to be a part of a series. Just a permafree book you either read and liked, or that you spotted and it intrigued you enough you'd like to recommend it. :-)
Okay ... here's the latest book cover bling:
Keep 'em coming! We take nominations until midnight on the last day of the month. I've got a sci-fantasy convention to go to this weekend, so I'll probably post them right after midnight (EDT) this time around.

I believe that this series deserves to be nominatedFallen Torment Passion Rapture
I am reading it currently and oh my it is getting heated!!
Prince of Wolves (First book free- I think this was one of the first books we EVER read in this group :) little memories :) Or maybe something a little different: The Walking Dead, Vol. 01: Days Gone Bye ? (I know it's free on Itunes but not sure about Kindle...)
I loveeeeved this serial! But it's a serial so I'm not sure if it qualifies : The Reveler Series by Erin Kellison. The first one in the series is free:
Darkness Falls. They were considered serials because there is a cliffhanger at the end of each of story.
I would like to nominate Fashionably Dead by Robyn Peterman. Read it a few years ago and enjoyed it. :)
Books mentioned in this topic
Fashionably Dead (other topics)Darkness Falls (other topics)
Prince of Wolves (other topics)
The Walking Dead, Vol. 1: Days Gone Bye (other topics)
Torment (other topics)

We're going to do things a little different this month! Since I'd rather have people chit-chat about a book, something they can't do if they can't afford it, this month's nomination should be PERMAFREE on MOST distribution platforms worldwide (i.e., not Kindle Unlimited subscription-free, but free-free, for the entire month).
Did you fall in love with a PARANORMAL SERIES after reading a first-book-free? Or spot one you'd love to read? Let's make this month's group read a permafree and get see if you can't find a new favorite author whose successive books you'd like to read.
Okay, PERMAFREE only (not KU, not a one-day sale). It's okay if the author offers it off their website so long as it's in all the formats (.epub, .mobi). Has to be DRM-free if it's only available on Kindle (will be marked 'simultaneous device usage: unlimited') so it can be converted to .epub using Calibre ('cause I'm a Nook girl and my desktop is kinda heavy to lug in the purse). What goodies can you tip off for the other members of the community?
Be epic!
