The Normal Heart discussion

I've always liked this cover image for it's "nail on the head" quality (I also like the allusion of spilled milk and spent cum) but I've been a bit troubled by the connotations.

Does anyone else feel that Larry Kramer's play and the story about the development of GMHC was just the opposite of what's typically thought of as "crying over spilled milk?"
