Where wolves rarely share their prey and they softly chat

Dhriti brushed by her without even a glance. At the last minute, she whirled around, sinking he sharp canines into Eska's flank. "You must LOVE being the lowest rank, huh?" She teased with an evil grin. Swiping her tongue across her jaws, Dhriti gave a cruel laugh, "A wolf like you isn't even fit to be alive!" She then abruptly turned and pranced away.
The wolf mix fixed her eyes on her paws and licked off her shoulder. She looked up to watch her leave, she sighed and glanced around the clearing.
Realizing her mistake, Dhriti pivoted, fixing Eska with a cold stare. "Oh wait," she said holding up a paw, "I forgot, you're not even a wolf, you're part dog, those annoying and defenseless scraps who are fed by Twolegs. And look where having them as ancestors got you!" She snickered as she marched away.
'Great, they just can't go a day without teasing me about that.' She thought and called to her as she marched away. "Is there anymore to do today?"
She thought a moment, "No, it'll begin again tomorrow. In the meantime there just might be a few scraps in the leftover food pile if you want them. I guess we can spare you a meal." She frowned slightly. "Go on, before I change my mind!" Dhriti snapped.
She scampered over and took the tiny prices of meat. She ate them in a flash. "Thank you." She said and bowed her head. She wanted to bite her but didn't.
Nodding thoughtfully, Dhriti sat down. "Say, i have a question for you, if you don't mind that is." She said slyly.
She sighed, Why did I agree to this? she thought. Wrapping her half curled tail around her paws she said, "I didn't live with them long.... but its not fun. If your inside their den, your not allowed to do anything. And if your outside, your stuck on a chain. Its not that great. The food is stale and looks like rabbit poop."
Dhriti snarled, "You cannot leave! We won't permit it. Once you're here, you're here to stay!" Thrusting her muzzle into Eska's face she lowered her voice to a low, threatening, growl. "You're staying, wether you like it or not."
Picking her head up once more Dhriti nodded a dismissal to the to her. "Let me know if you need anything and I'll see if I can get it to you." She trotted away.
"Wow, these wolves are confusing." She said to herself, only loud enough for herself to hear. She sits down and waits for any wolf to come harrying in needing help. She makes herself small and waits.
She shakes out her pelt and gazes around the camp clearing. Her posture one that lower ranks would use. She listens to some birds chirping.
Tahki strolls by. Lifting his nose to the wind, he inhales deeply. Noticing the gnaw wolf sitting there, he frowns. "What do you want?" He growls, not meanaceingly, but not happy either.
"I finished my job and came to see if anything was needed." She says putting her head low. Her tail tucked under herself, making her look smaller.
Nodding, satisfied with her response he decided to venture on the subject. "How satisfied are you with your job?" He asked.
"I think I've done good." She replied quietly and dipped her head to the male. ((Is that what he meant?))
((Yep))"I do as well." He glanced around to make sure no one saw him being nice. "Well, if you ever need anything let me know," he lowered his voice, "I have to be nasty now sorry." He gave her a semi apologetic look. "Now why don't you get me a deer or something, why didn't you do that already?" He snapped. "I'm starving and there's nothing around here!"
She nodded and went out to find the male some food. Her face was emotionless as she dragged a fresh dear over to his feet. She said nothing, her mind was whirling. She turned to run off again, like gnaw wolves do.
Tearing into the warm flesh, Tahki reflected on what he'd just done. "I could've been worse to her I guess." He snorted at his kindness. "What was I thinking?"
She heared his words and it felt like it slapped her in the face. She waited till the deer would be finished to take them back the gnaw wolf area. She looks over to him.
She picked out the bear bones and brought them away. "Back to work." She said quietly as she walked away.
Solstice slunk into the camp, hardly making a sound. Her ears were pricked for anything suspicious.
Eska looked up and saw another wolf walk into camp. She lowers her head like a gnaw wolf should as she walked past.
She gave an emotionless look at the wolf that saw her. The spy shifted on her haunches slightly.
Eska quickly looked away and picked up her pace. Her eyes focused on the exit of the camp. She clamped down harder on her mouth full of bones.
Her spy instinct kicked in, becoming extremely curious. She stood to her paws and slowly followed, silently.
Lenox padded back to camp with Petal in her jaws. The poor put was exhausted physically as well as emotionally. "You'll do good little one," Lenox whispered softly placing the pup in her den.
Dhriti trotted over. Bowing before Lenox and King she spoke in a strong tone. "What do you want from me?" She asked, eager to do what the two wished.
Lenox wore an unamused expression upon her face. She glances over ag King. "Lets go for a walk," She says standing. King disappered into the forest.
"Whatever you wish." She followed the Alpha, slightly confused and also concerned as to wether or not she'd done wrong. She had never been asked to walk with Alpha before and didn't really want to now.
King followed after the female Alpha, his eyes upon the beta. Lenox took up aside the female. She eyed her dangerously. They walked far away enough that she could stop and approach the beta.
"Next time I hear of you speaking down to an Omega and declaring they have no right to live, I'll have your pelt hanging in my den." She snapped and growled, her jaws parted close to the beta's ear, "The beta has no right pushing around an Omega other than myself."
Dhriti flattened her ears against her head. "You have my sincerest apologies," she responded in a low voice, "it won't happen again." She wanted nothing more than to rip her claws through Lenox's pelt, but restrained herself, knowing it would only worsen the situation.
The alpha's tail twitched in annoyance. Her claws flexed. His fur rippled. Without warning, she looked at King and he lunged. He grasped his large jaws around Dhriti's throat and shook her around like a rag doll. He groawed
Yelping in surprise, she felt the searing pain at her throat. Digging her claws into King's muscle, she ripped open his shoulder, feeling his blood on her paws. Even through her pain, she smirked in satisfaction.
King didnt feel a thing. The female alpha went ahead and ripped open her stomach while King held onto her throat and slammed his jaws down on her trachea.
The pain was more than she could bear. Dhriti could feel her life slipping slowly away. "In a way, I'm glad you did this to me." She gasped for air. "I'm different than I've shown you. I hate you, I hate your pack, and I am more than happy to die." She rasped her final words, hoping they would penetrate their skin and make them think. "I'll never be fully gone. I'm here to stay, both in life and death." She took her last breath and her spirit left her body, free at last to roam the forest.
Solstice padded in, grumbling as she was still shaking water from her fur. She ruffled her fur as she saw the brawl occurring. She resisted a growl of annoyance.
Lenox smiled and spat out the dead wolf. "Man, she never does shut up does she?" King asked with disgust and annoyance. "Oh well," Lenox growled trumpantly, "More room for my dear prodige Petal," King dipped his head. He returned to the forest while Lenox headed to Red River.

Solstice shook her wet fur again. She picked a burr from her coat. She huffed.
